If you’re looking for a hotel for a trip to Edland, this variety can help you decide what you’d like to focus on during your stay.

Activities in Edland

Reinparken is a social gathering place in Edland. It has a cycling facility, a jogging and hiking trail, and a swimming area. The park’s theme is the wild reindeer.

The bike park at Reinparken is located by Edland school. Its features include a large asphalt pump track, a jump line, a wall ride and a skills course. The bike park is suitable for all ages and skill levels; parking is available at the school.

The lit cross-country ski trail in Edland is 5 km long and can also be used in the evening. You can start at the school. Grooming depends on conditions and local operations. The trail’s length provides a clear point of reference, while grooming depends on the conditions at the time.

The terrain park at Haukelifjell Ski is lit and can be used for evening skiing. Haukelifjell Ski in Edland is considered a snow-reliable destination, with early snowfall and a dry, cold climate; snow conditions may vary from season to season. This gives you two different winter options: cross-country skiing on a five-kilometre trail and evening skiing in the terrain park.

At the outlet of Tveitevatnet in Edland, the KjelaÄi flows gently; the bathing temperature there is considered very pleasant. This is a seasonal outdoor swimming option. The swimming area at Reinparken and the outlet offer two different ways to enjoy the water during your stay.

Cycling Routes and Directions

For cycling, there is a shorter route around the “Bygdevegen” and, as an alternative, the full mountain crossing over Haukelifjell along the E134. The options range from a shorter ride to the complete crossing. Road and cycling conditions vary by season, so take this into account when planning either route.

Storegut and Edland

Storegut (1764–1791) was born at Norigard in Edland, Vinje. The Storegut Monument stands by Edland school; a sculpture of Storegut was unveiled in 2016 during the Vinje Literature Days. His birthplace and the monument are two specific places in Edland associated with Storegut.

To reach the Storegut Monument, take the turnoff from the E134 onto Rv 362/Storegutvegen. This lets you consider the cultural connection alongside the town’s recreational opportunities.
