The hike to Veten starts at Grotlesanden; there are several hiking trails on the Veten plateau. Veten also has a day-use hiking cabin with a library for hikers. If the cabin is important to your plans, confirm that it is currently available before setting out.
Vetvika can be reached via a three-hour mountain trail from Svarstad on Bremangerlandet. Trail conditions depend on the weather. Plan your route according to conditions on the day of your visit. On the Diktarstien in Botnane, you’ll encounter poems by Jan-Magnus Bruheim in the landscape, combining hiking with literature.
The via ferrata at Hornelen offers routes of varying difficulty. If you are considering a guided tour, check availability before your trip. Ă…lfotbreen is a protected landscape because of its unique climate and rock formations. Veststeinen is also protected; landing there is prohibited during the breeding season. KalvĂĄg and Practical Information
In Kalvåg, restored boathouses and fishermen’s cabins preserve the history of the place. Guided boat tours are offered from there, giving you the chance to experience coastal nature and wildlife up close. Check dates and operators in advance. Knutholmen in Kalvåg has a restaurant and offers dining in a distinctive setting; check the current opening hours before your visit.
Kalvåg can be reached by car via county roads from Florø, Måløy and the rest of Nordfjord. There is ample parking in the town centre; local conditions may change. Tourist information is available on screens in Kalvåg, Svelgen and Iglandsvik. Their locations may change, so check the details if you specifically want to visit a screen.
Bus services run to Bremanger and nearby areas, but public transport to KalvĂĄg may be limited. Check current services before your trip. All visits to Hjortegarden in Ă…lfoten must be arranged in advance.
