Kayaking and boat trips are well suited to the lake; rafting on the Tara, by contrast, follows an 18-kilometre stretch from Brštanovica to Šćepan Polje. Piva Nature Park covers 39 percent of the Municipality of Plužine. For hiking and cycling, the management plan for 2021–2025 lists more than 15 marked hiking and/or cycling routes with information boards in the nature park. The Plužine–Stabna–Veliki Vito mountain trail is designated as a marked mountain route. The park also has two platforms for observing wild animals and one platform for birdwatching. Trail conditions can change; check them before setting out. You should also check the condition of and access to the observation platforms before visiting.

The Stabanska Lakes are glacial lakes about 20 kilometres from the town of Plužine. From Plužine, they can be reached by a trail along the Vrbnica and Stabanski streams. The lakes are rich in trout and are often visited by sport anglers. Another natural phenomenon is Sušičko Lake on Durmitor: it is a periodic lake, and its water disappears when the Sušica River dries up.

Culture and regional specialties

Piva Monastery was relocated to Sinjac because of the flooding of the Piva River and the construction of a hydroelectric power plant; its original frescoes were moved as well. Its treasury is among the richest in Montenegro. It includes valuable collections of old manuscript books and books printed earlier in the Balkans, including the only surviving psalter from the Obod printing house. The Kula Lazara Sočice in Goransko is also part of the cultural heritage and has the status of a cultural property.
