Blome brings together different attractions for a trip: Blomes Dzirnavezers in the village centre, hiking trails of varying lengths, and cultural sites with stories of their own. If you are looking for a hotel in Blome, you can plan your stay around whether you would like to spend time by the water, on a hiking trail, or visiting historical and cultural sites.

Blomes Dzirnavezers and its shores

Blomes Dzirnavezers is located in the centre of the village of Blome, near the cultural centre and apartment buildings. At the end of the 18th century, it was artificially dammed on the Nigra. Its location in the village and its creation as a dammed body of water give the lake two distinct aspects: it is part of the village landscape and, at the same time, part of the history of the landscape. A sports field and recreational facilities are located in the southeastern part of the lake. There are several fishing spots, piers and a swimming area along the shores. The southeastern area complements the lakeside options with sports and recreational facilities.

Hiking along the Nigra

Nigras taka is an approximately 7 km circular hiking route along the Nigra River. It passes along steep banks, through ravines and by streams; it also includes numerous bends. The route is highly challenging. Climbs and descents, narrow bridges, mud and other challenges mark the way. The starting point is at a bridge over the Nigra near the houses called ā€œJanētiā€. Nigras taka is marked on the trees with a red stripe on a white background. For planning, both the approximate route length and the described terrain are important.

Jeberlejas apļi consists of two paths that together form a route approximately 3 km long. Compared with the approximately 7 km Nigras taka, the route lengths differ. At the same time, the figures describe different formats: the combined length of two paths and the length of a circular hiking route. There are two designated hiking trails in Blome Municipality.

Cultural sites and local history

The Riņģi Meeting House is a testament to Latvian spiritual life in the 19th century. Every year in July, it holds its own festival, Kambara svētki. Another cultural event is ā€œSatiec savu meistaruā€ at Blomes Tautas nams, where the event has been held for two decades.

The memorial stone to Ķikuļu Jēkabs is located near the Riņģi Meeting House. Jēkabs was a poet, weaver and practising member of the Moravian Church; he is considered the first Latvian poet. Blome’s Pasaku Oak is also associated with local significance: it has survived to this day and has become a symbol of Blome. It is located 1.3 km from the centre of Blome, on the V232 road.

Jeberleja Open-Air Stage

Jeberleja Open-Air Stage was built as an old barn in the second half of the 20th century. Next to the stage are a small pond with a swimming area and a pier. There are volleyball courts and a lawn suitable for various activities by the stage. Spacious camping areas are available in the vicinity of the open-air stage. Jeberleja thus brings together the history of the barn and several different opportunities for outdoor activities.
