Looking for a hotel in Droichead Nua? When planning your trip, you can start with the interests the town brings together: culture and events, golf, paths along the River Liffey, or a visit to the Newbridge Silverware Visitor Centre. This lets you weigh up different activities for your stay without implying that they are part of any particular hotel offer.

Culture, design and events

The Newbridge Silverware Visitor Centre has a factory showroom and the Museum of Style Icons. The approximately 45-minute factory tour can be booked for 11:00 or 14:15 Monday to Thursday, and for 11:00 on Fridays. Admission to the Museum of Style Icons is free. Its exhibits include couture, Hollywood glamour and memorabilia from the music world, as well as other artefacts.

The Riverbank Arts Centre in Newbridge is an arts centre for County Kildare. Its interdisciplinary programme includes theatre, cinema, comedy, music, dance, workshops and visual arts. The cultural offering therefore ranges from exhibitions to a variety of stage and event formats. Newbridge June Fest is an annual community festival held around the June Bank Holiday weekend. The specific programme dates vary from year to year, so check them if you want to plan your trip around the festival.

Paths along the Liffey, golf and sport

The public Liffey Linear Park is a 9.5-acre park on the River Liffey in Newbridge. Its paths are 1.5 km long in total. The Curragh Trail also runs near Newbridge: a 15.1 km circular route through the open grasslands of the Curragh Plains. The two routes differ considerably in their stated length and format, allowing you to choose between a park with paths in town and a longer circuit nearby. You can also fish on the River Liffey in Newbridge.

Newbridge Golf Club is an 18-hole parkland course designed by Pat Suttle and opened in 1995. The grounds are home to herons, moorhens, kingfishers and wild ducks, among other wildlife. The club welcomes visitors; check how visits are currently arranged before you go. For a different kind of sporting event, Cedral St Conleth’s Park is a Gaelic Games stadium in the centre of Newbridge. It reopened in late October 2024, with a capacity of 15,000.
