Mõisaküla offers two distinct starting points for planning a trip: a historical connection and event programs featuring music or farm activities. The specific examples come from Linnamäe Concert Day 2025 and Open Farm Day 2026. They can help you narrow down the reason for your trip first; for future editions, check the relevant dates.

Historical connection: Uugla and Oru

Mõisaküla first belonged to the Uugla manor and later to the Oru manor. The change from Uugla to Oru gives the village’s history a clear chronological sequence: it concerns two successive historical affiliations. If you are considering history as a reason to choose a travel destination, this sequence is the specific connection. It is a separate topic from the music and farm programs described later. This lets you distinguish whether you would like to get to know Mõisaküla mainly through its historical development or through a particular type of event.

Linnamäe Concert Day 2025

The 8th Linnamäe Concert Day took place in 2025 across the five villages of Soolu, Saunja, Vedra, Mõisaküla, and Linnamäe. One ticket gave admission to all the concerts; visitors could also visit all five villages and farms, or choose individual concerts. The distances between venues could be covered by bicycle. At every venue, home cafés set up specifically for the day were open. The ticket’s coverage and the actual choice were not the same: the ticket was valid for all the concerts, although visitors could also choose individual concerts. The home cafés were explicitly part of this event day.

Farm programs at Open Farm Day 2026

At Open Farm Day 2026 in Mõisaküla, Urge Farm offered guided garden tours at 10 a.m., noon, 2 p.m., and 4 p.m. The program also included a collection of Mercedes-Benz model cars in 1:43 scale, featuring vehicles from 1886 through the 1950s. At Raudsepa Farm, guided tours of the flower field took place throughout the day. In a workshop, visitors could make their own bouquets from wildflowers. Unlike the garden tours at Urge Farm, which were scheduled at four fixed times, the flower-field tours ran throughout the day; the workshop added a hands-on activity. Other parts of the program were also hosted at Urge Farm: the host prepared bread and rhubarb cake for visitors. The program also included activities for children, led by the host of Mõisaküla Nurga Farm. At a scale of 1:43, a model’s length is one forty-third of the length of the corresponding full-size vehicle.

If you would like to plan a future trip around either of these event formats, check the dates for the relevant edition. The concert details described here are from 2025, and the farm programs are from 2026.
