Prasklice combines a varied hilly landscape with archaeological and ecclesiastical landmarks. There is also a cycling route, local competitions and tastings. This gives you different ways to plan a stay focused on local history, scenery or activities. Křéby brings together several of the cultural and natural-history themes.

Landscape and Křéby

Prasklice lies on gentle slopes in a varied hilly landscape with low ridges and bowl-shaped valleys. The Švábský potok flows through the village and joins the Tištínka. Křéby is both a national natural monument and a Bronze Age hillfort. The archaeological site is an elevated settlement of the Únětice-Věteřov type, dating from around 2000 to 1500 BC. Here, a natural monument and the history of a prehistoric settlement stand side by side. A Stations of the Cross with wooden crosses leads to the pilgrimage site of Křéby.

Church, farmsteads and museum

The parish church of St. Anne developed from a chapel built in 1852 and consecrated in 1857. Between 1872 and 1891, it was converted into the church that stands today. Inside are Hromádek’s 1854 painting of St. Anne and wall paintings by František Šenar from 1908. The sequence of the chapel, its conversion and the later wall paintings makes the building’s history and art history traceable through specific dates.

Several preserved farmsteads also showcase the folk architecture of Haná. Many retain original craft details, including windows, doors, gates and façade profiles. The municipal museum Horákův statek opened on 10 May 2025. Its ethnological exhibition covers the history of Prasklice and the everyday lives of earlier generations. Exhibits include a classroom, parts of the church’s original furnishings, traditional crafts and household items. An archaeological and natural-history exhibition is devoted to Křéby.

Morkovice–Nezamyslice cycling route

The paved Morkovice–Nezamyslice cycling route is 11.6 kilometres long and two metres wide. It can be ridden in either direction and is suitable for cyclists and inline skaters. The route passes through Uhřice, Prasklice and Koválovice on its way to Nezamyslice. A field path leads from the cycling route to Křéby; the site can be reached on foot or by bicycle. This connects local history with a specific cycling route without assigning an additional distance to the trip to the archaeological site.
