Dolní Němčí lies at the foot of the Bílé Karpaty Protected Landscape Area. As a travel destination, the town combines a network of cycling routes connecting it to the Bílé Karpaty, Luhačovice and the Baťa Canal with historic sites and recurring traditions. You can therefore plan your stay around whether cycling routes, local history or a specific event date is your main focus.

Cycling Routes and Routes to Dolní Němčí

Dolní Němčí’s cycling network connects to three destinations: the Bílé Karpaty, Luhačovice and the Baťa Canal. Separate from these connections is cycling route 5052. Its route passes through Hradčovice, Dolní Němčí, Slavkov and Horní Němčí to Velká Javořina. The network names connections in different directions; route 5052 gives a specific sequence of places. If you want to identify a route by its named places, this sequence provides a clear reference point.

Two puzzle trails also lead to Dolní Němčí. The Lucká hledačka includes Route A from Horní Němčí via Slavkov to Dolní Němčí, and Route B from Hluk to Dolní Němčí. The two trails can be distinguished by their different starting points. The local puzzle trail offering, Lucké hledačky, explores the secrets of Lucké Pole and the question of why a road in Dolní Němčí once subsided.

Church, Chapel and Local History

The neo-Gothic parish church kostel sv. Filipa a Jakuba was built from 1870 to 1873. Three named bells hang in its tower: Svatý Prokop, dating from 1733; Svatý Josef, from 1949; and Panna Maria, from 1954. The church is listed in the Central Register of Cultural Monuments of the Czech Republic (ÚSKP ČR). The bells also give the church its own timeline: their stated dates span the 18th to the 20th century.

The chapel sv. Anny dates from 1830 and is located on the field path to Blatnice. It still serves religious processions every year. The statue sv. Floriána also links several historical dates: it dates from 1777, is listed in the Central Register of Cultural Monuments, and was moved to the park by the church in 1970. Its date of creation and its later relocation mark two distinct points in its history.

The Muzeum Na Mlýně houses historical exhibits in the original living quarters of the former mill. An archaeological exhibition drawn from the collections of Milan Daněk, who came from Dolní Němčí, was also established in the former 18th-century mill building in 2020. The mill and museum thus connect the historic building with exhibits and a specific exhibition history.

Traditions and Event Dates

Baking bread in a stone oven is one of Dolní Němčí’s traditions. Dožínky takes place in mid-August once every four years. Hody s právem, by contrast, is held every two years; it was first held in 1968. It concludes with a Sunday Mass at the church kostel sv. Filipa a Jakuba. The different intervals matter when planning a trip around either festival: Dožínky has a longer cycle, while Hody s právem takes place more frequently.

An edition of “Vaření trnek” was listed for September 5, 2026, at the Muzeum Na Mlýně grounds. The program included a folklore afternoon with a tasting. Traditionally, “Vaření trnek” involves cooking povidla in a cauldron. Stone-oven baking and cooking povidla represent two different local food traditions; the listed edition of the festival, however, is tied to the stated date.

Activities in Hájek

The DiscGolfPark in Hájek has nine holes and is freely accessible. The workout area in Hájek is also freely accessible to the public. Check accessibility before your visit. Hájek therefore offers two different activities: a DiscGolfPark with a stated number of holes and a publicly accessible workout area.
