Lísek – Church, Forest and Trails
Accommodation in Lísek
When choosing where to stay, you can assess Lísek according to the focus of your trip: the Empire-style Church of St. Nicholas represents architectural heritage, the protected landscape area and nature monument represent protected nature, while a green-marked route offers a connection to hiking and Skalský rybník offers opportunities for fishing and recreation.
Church and Architectural History
The Empire-style Church of St. Nicholas is the landmark of Lísek. It was built from 1846 to 1852. A Boží hrob from the former church stands in front of the present-day church. This brings together two historical reference points: the construction of the present-day church in the 19th century and an element belonging to the former church. This connection is particularly interesting for a thematic overview, as it draws attention both to the church and to a surviving detail of its earlier history.
Landscape and Forest
The Žďárské vrchy Protected Landscape Area covers the part of the municipality of Lísek west of road III/36034. This protected-area designation therefore applies specifically to this part of the municipality, not to all of Lísek. The Vlčí kámen Nature Monument lies at the northern tip of the cadastral area of Vojtěchov, within the municipality. It protects a remnant of an old fir-spruce-beech forest. The forest on the rocky slope is also a fragment of an old beech forest amid a spruce monoculture. The boundaries of the protected landscape area and the forest's specific location offer different points of reference if you are considering Lísek primarily from the perspective of nature and landscape.
Hiking and Skalský rybník
The green-marked route “Kolem Olešné k zaniklému Pičulínu” passes through Lísek and climbs at the edge of the village toward the 734 m-high hill of Pletenice. Its course, trail markings and elevation provide a concrete framework for planning a hike. Trail conditions and markings may change; check them before setting out.
Skalský rybník was probably created around the turn of the 15th and 16th centuries. Today it is used for fishing and recreation; there are two spacious beaches by the pond. This place therefore combines a historical context with specific present-day uses. Conditions for recreation and beach use may change. Check them before making your plans.
Getting There and Choosing Where to Stay
The “Lísek, Skalský Dvůr” bus stop is a named landmark for finding your way there. It is on the road connecting Lísek with road I/19. Check the stop's location and service before travelling, so your plans are based on current information.
The different themes can help you choose a place according to your interests: church architecture and history, protected forests and landscapes, hiking, or fishing and recreation by the pond.
