Čečkovice offers several specific points of interest to help you plan your trip. The village square is home to the statue of Czeczka and the enclosed Stírka spring complex. At the lower edge of the village, the valley of the nearby Doubrava rises toward the ridge of the Iron Mountains. Cycling route 5127 also passes through Čečkovice. Together, these features cover everything from the village itself to springs, scenery, and cycling.

The village square and the Stírka spring complex

The village square features two named attractions: the statue of Czeczka and an enclosed group of spring outlets called Stírka. Their location side by side gives travelers two distinct local points of interest: a monument and a natural feature. The spring complex has an average flow of about 2 liters per second.

Stírka is also considered a typical example of drainage from siltstones and marls at the foot of the Iron Mountains. Its flow rate and rock types offer two different perspectives: the first describes the spring by its average water volume, while the second provides its geological context. This makes the spring complex tangible not only through its name, but also through its connection to the rocks at the foot of the mountains.

Valley, ridge, and a view to the south

At the lower edge of Čečkovice, the valley of the nearby Doubrava rises toward the ridge of the Iron Mountains. Bučina, at 627 m, lies on this ridge and offers a beautiful view to the south. The sequence is easy to picture: the valley describes the lower part of the landscape, the ridge provides the rising terrain, and Bučina is a specific high point with a southern view. For orientation, you can consider the course of the valley and the view from the ridge as distinct aspects of the landscape.

Another point of interest in the region is the recreational area at the Seč Reservoir. It is 11 km away and attracts tourists and anglers. Unlike the attractions on the village square and the landscape at the lower edge of the village, this recreational area is outside Čečkovice. If you plan to visit, check the local conditions in advance, as access and conditions may change.

Cycling route and regional orientation

Cycling route 5127 Radostín–Golčův Jeníkov passes through Čečkovice. It is a moderately difficult, hilly road route for road bikes and trekking bikes. Its course, difficulty level, terrain, and suitable bike types are all specified for planning your ride. If you plan to use the route, check its conditions before setting off.

Stírka is also part of a regional route: it is the fourth stop on the Zelená stezka. The two route references relate to different things: route 5127 passes through Čečkovice and is described as a road cycling route, while the Zelená stezka identifies Stírka as a stop. This allows you to consider the cycling route and the spring complex’s position on the Zelená stezka separately.
