Polerady offers several distinct themes for a trip: the Poleradské slavnosti, local history and the Mostecký okruh cycling route. The Chapel of St. Anne has not survived; Glockenberg Hill and the restored Studánka spring are also part of the area’s historical heritage.

Festival dates in Polerady

The Poleradské slavnosti are held annually. They were revived in the 1990s and now take place on the first Saturday in July. The 2026 edition was held at the municipal sports ground in Polerady: it began at 09:00 on 4 July and ended at 02:00 on 5 July.

Local history through the years

The Chapel of St. Anne was completed in 1935; it was dedicated to St. Anne and demolished in the 1950s. The building has not survived. Polerady had a historic bell tower on Glockenberg Hill, now called Na Zvonu, as early as 1701. Local history therefore has two distinct landmarks: a demolished chapel dedicated to St. Anne and a bell tower associated with the year 1701 on Glockenberg Hill, now called Na Zvonu. The former Počerady–Havraň–Vrskmaň local railway began operating on 1 March 1887 and was about 18 kilometres long.

The restored Studánka spring also has a history rooted in everyday life: because of its water properties, local households once used it to wash large quantities of laundry. An information trail about the spring and the viaduct starts at a sign in front of the entrance gate near the former sand quarry. The sign’s condition may change; check before your visit whether the information is available on site.

Cycling route and local sports facilities

The Mostecký okruh passes through Polerady between Volevčice and Nemilkov. According to the route description, it is 35 kilometres long, has little elevation gain and is suitable for cyclocross, trekking and mountain bikes. The route length describes its overall distance, while the low elevation gain describes its elevation profile; the types of bike listed provide an additional point of reference for your planning. Check current riding conditions locally, as they may change.

Reasons to visit and finding a hotel

For trip planning, these options differ mainly in their timing: the Poleradské slavnosti take place on an annual date in July, the cycling route can be assessed by its length, elevation gain and bike type, while the historical themes focus on local history.
