Těšetice combines distinctive landscape features with historical landmarks and specific leisure interests. The Únanovský Stream runs through the municipality, and a large orchard lies to the west. Other attractions include the Church of the Holy Trinity and the important prehistoric site of Těšetice-Kyjovice. Golf and sport fishing are also among the things the area has to offer. If you are planning a stay, you can first consider whether cultural history, a sporting activity or the rural surroundings should be the main focus of your trip.

Landscape and agricultural character

The Únanovský Stream flows from west to east through Těšetice. It divides the municipality into a smaller northern part and a larger southern part. The watercourse thus provides a clear point of reference within the municipality: it forms the landscape boundary between the two parts, which differ in size.

West of Těšetice lies the 90-hectare orchard owned by Pomona a.s. Těšetice. Cherries, sour cherries, apples, apricots and peaches are grown there. Together, the stream and the orchard represent two distinct aspects of the surroundings: the stream shapes the layout of the municipality, while the orchard reflects the agricultural use of the land to the west.

Church and archaeological history

The Late Empire-style Church of the Holy Trinity dates from 1843 to 1848. It was consecrated on June 18, 1848. The date range places the church in its period of construction, while the specific date marks its consecration. The church is therefore a clearly dated landmark in the history of the area.

The archaeological site of Těšetice-Kyjovice offers a different perspective on history. It lies within the cadastral area of Kyjovice and is closely connected to the municipality of Těšetice by links and routes. The site is considered important for prehistory. Its rondel is of particular note: it was extensively researched from 1968 to 1978 and was the first example of its kind in Central Europe to undergo such research. The church and the site thus represent different historical themes and periods.

Golf and sport fishing

For golf enthusiasts, the Královská vinice Těšetice golf complex, with its nine-hole golf course and driving range, is a specific point of interest. The Těšetice Golf Club is open to the general public. If golf is one of the reasons for your trip, you will find two named facilities at the complex and a clearly stated public-access policy for the club.

Fishpoint Těšetice offers a different activity: this modern fishing lake near Znojmo is intended for sport fishing. This focus clearly differs from the golf offering. Visitor rules may change, so check the operator’s current information before making plans.

The stream and orchard add landscape and agriculture to the picture of the municipality. This makes it easier to choose Těšetice based on the things that really matter for your stay.
