Běleč combines a valley landscape with tangible evidence of the village’s history. The municipality lies in the Svratecká hornatina Nature Park; around Běleč, meadows, pastures and fields dotted with trees shape the landscape. Běleč lies in a narrow, deep valley where the Křeptovský and Bělečský streams meet. The valley and waterways describe the geographical setting, while chapels, crosses and a memorial provide individual historical points of interest. When planning a stay, visitors can consider the natural environment and local history as two distinct themes of the destination.

Valley and Natural Environment

The Míchovec Nature Monument extends across the cadastral areas of Běleč and Synalov. It includes preserved remnants of a beech-maple forest resembling primeval woodland. Geomorphologically notable rock faces lie in the vicinity of the nature monument. The forest remnants and rock faces provide different points of interest: a forest formation resembling primeval woodland in one place, and distinctive rock formations nearby in another. Together with the meadows, pastures and fields, they offer several specific landscape features to explore. Their locations are important: the forest remnants are part of the nature monument itself, while the rock faces lie in its vicinity. The Svratecká hornatina Nature Park provides the regional context for Běleč; Míchovec adds a description of a nature monument and its surroundings.

Chapels and Places of Remembrance

The chapel in Běleč dates from 1922 and is dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. In 1884, the Hájek couple had a marble cross erected at the chapel entrance. On the village square in front of the chapel, a granite memorial commemorates the inhabitants of Běleč who fell in the First World War; the municipality erected it in 1938. In Křeptov, the chapel is dedicated to Saints Cyril and Methodius. It stands in the middle of the village on a high rise in the terrain. A cast-iron cross near the turnoff to Křeptov dates from 1901. The two chapels can be distinguished by their different features: in Běleč, the chapel’s date and dedication are complemented by the marble cross and the memorial to the fallen; in Křeptov, the dedication and the location on the rise shape the description of the chapel.

Travel Planning Tips

A description from 2022 mentions a children’s playground and a snack stand at the fire pond between Běleč and Křeptov; the stand operated during the summer months. If you plan to stop there, check the condition of the playground and whether the snack stand is currently operating seasonally. A route description, last updated on 8 February 2007, takes the long-distance Pražská trasa cycle route through Běleč. Check the current signage and conditions before setting out. This distinction can help with planning: geographical and historical features are enduring, while information about the playground, snack stand and cycle route may change and should be checked before your visit.
