Rodvínov: Forests, Ponds and Cultural Monuments
Accommodation in Rodvínov
Rodvínov combines surroundings shaped by small ponds and forests with distinctive attractions in the district of Jindřiš. If you would like to plan your stay around walks, landscapes and technical or religious monuments, you will find a range of options here: from the Jindřišské údolí to the Jindrova naučná stezka and buildings with a history of their own. When looking for a hotel in Rodvínov, these themes can help you decide in advance what you would like to focus on during your stay.
Forests, Ponds and the Jindřišské údolí
The picturesque surroundings invite you to go for walks and enjoy a pleasant stay on the banks of small ponds. The forests around Rodvínov offer a place to relax and are rich in mushrooms and wild berries. The 9.3-hectare Jindřišské údolí lies southeast of the municipality. Its features include ravine forests, fir stands and relict pines; protected plants, fungi and animals are also found there.
The Jindrova naučná stezka is one way to explore the landscape. It follows the Hamerský potok from Jindřichův Hradec through Jindřiš and onward through the Jindřišské údolí, via Blažejov and Dvoreček, to the Ratmírovský rybník. The route is 11 km long. The nature trail currently has 21 information boards about the surroundings of the Hamerský potok; each also includes a section for preschool and younger school-age children. Check route information before setting out.
Bridge, Wayside Shrines and Narrow-Gauge Railway
In the district of Jindřiš, a Baroque stone bridge crosses the Hamerský potok. Built around 1856, it is listed as an immovable technical monument. A statue of Saint John of Nepomuk stands on the bridge. It remains open to motor vehicles. Before Jindřiš, at the junction by the bridge over the Hamerský potok, there is a wayside shrine dated 1667. At the turnoff to the railway in the district of Jindřiš, there is also a wayside shrine designated as a cultural monument, registration number 32543 / 3-1956.
The Jindřichův Hradec–Nová Bystřice narrow-gauge railway is another technical attraction. It has two stops in Jindřiš and is considered an important technical monument. If you would like to include the railway in your plans, check the current timetable in advance.
The bell “sv. Prokop” in Rodvínov’s wooden bell tower is part of the village’s history. It was cast in public on the village green in Rodvínov from 14 to 16 August 2015. This precisely dated historical event adds to the permanent buildings and commemorative sites in Jindřiš.
Plan Your Stay Around Your Interests
The attractions vary in type and scale: the Jindřišské údolí is a 9.3-hectare landscape area, while the Jindrova naučná stezka is an 11 km-long route through several named places. The bridge and wayside shrines, by contrast, are individual buildings and commemorative sites. This gives you a way to weigh up whether nature, a longer route or historic buildings should shape your stay. If you are looking for a hotel in Rodvínov, this distinction provides a practical starting point for planning.
