When choosing a place to stay, Příšov can be characterized by specific features: the Příšovská homolka Natural Monument, its partially preserved historic settlement layout and its rural architecture. If you are looking for a hotel in Příšov, these features can help you compare the character of the destination with your travel interests. Geology, architecture and dated local events offer different perspectives on the village.

Natural History and Village Layout

The Příšovská homolka Natural Monument protects a Tertiary volcano that became dormant during the Diluvium. Its geological classification differs from the village’s architectural features: the focus here is on the history of a volcano’s formation, not the design of a building. If you also take natural history into account when choosing your destination, Homolka offers a specific point of interest. The natural monument and the historic architectural forms thus offer different perspectives on Příšov.

Village Chapel, Farmsteads and Façades

The historic center of Příšov, with its village chapel, is considered significant for heritage preservation and merits greater attention and comprehensive protection. The village chapel has a simple bell turret at the apex of a pyramidal roof. Both the roof shape and the position of the bell turret are characteristic architectural features: the turret sits at the highest point of the pyramidal roof.

Příšov has partially preserved its historic settlement layout, including its original agricultural farmsteads. Many of the larger and smaller farmsteads have building fabric dating predominantly from 1850 to 1930. Many of these buildings retain attractively decorated stucco façades, which mainly reflect pseudo-historicist styles, particularly Neo-Renaissance. The construction period and stylistic features describe different aspects: the years 1850 to 1930 refer to the predominant period when the building fabric was created, while the style terms refer to the façade design. Rural architecture can thus be considered at several scales—from the partially preserved settlement layout, through the agricultural farmsteads, to the decorated façades.

A single monument adds to this village scene: a four-sided stone pillar from the late 18th century stands beneath a horse chestnut tree on road II/180 toward Ledce. It bears a severely damaged, smaller-than-life-size statue of Saint John of Nepomuk. The material, form, date and state of preservation are all part of this monument. Unlike the façades spread across many farmsteads, it is a single object in a specific roadside location.
