Strakov combines a valley and forest landscape with marked hiking and cycling routes, as well as individual natural and cultural sites. If you’re looking for hotels in Strakov, the differences between hiking trails, cycling routes of varying lengths and local history offer concrete points of reference for planning your trip.

Landscape and Waterways

Strakov lies in gently rolling, slightly hilly countryside. The settlement stretches along both banks of the Končinský potok valley. The stream runs through the built-up area and flows from north to south within the planning area. Its source lies east of Mendryka; at Cerekvice nad Loučnou, it flows into the Loučná as a tributary.

The extensive forest complex of Kozlovský hřbet covers more than half of Strakov’s planning area. Its highest point is Nad Zlatou studánkou, at 604 m above sea level. The similar-sounding names refer to different landmarks: Nad Zlatou studánkou is the name of the highest point, while Zlatá studánka is one of the sources of the Končinský potok.
