Lázně Bohdaneč offers several practical starting points for planning a stay: walking trails, Lázeňský park and buildings from different periods. If you are looking for a hotel, you can consider whether you would like to spend your time mainly walking, observing nature or exploring architecture. Trail lengths, an estimated duration, features of the park and architectural history with key dates offer different ways to plan your day.

Walking trails by length and character

The Gočárův okruh is a five-kilometre walking route through Lázně Bohdaneč and the surrounding open countryside. It passes 14 points of interest. This gives you two details to take directly into account when planning: the length of the walking route and the number of points of interest along it.

Another circular route leads from Lázně Bohdaneč to the Bohdanečské rybníky. It is about 4.5 kilometres long and takes approximately two hours at a leisurely pace. For planning your time, this approximate duration at a leisurely pace serves as a guide; the actual walking time may depend on your pace.

The Bohdanečské rybníky nature trail passes through a national nature reserve. It is 7.25 kilometres long and has six stops with information panels. As well as the distance, you can also take the number of stops into account when planning this route. The trails can therefore be distinguished using specific details: the Gočárův okruh combines five kilometres with 14 points of interest, the circular route to the ponds has an approximate walking time, and the nature trail has six stops.

Lázeňský park: trees, paths and relaxation

Lázeňský park covers 17 hectares. Around 100 species of native and exotic woody plants, along with their cultivars, make up a diverse array of plant life. This combination of parkland and trees is a focus in its own right for a visit: as well as taking a walk, you can also take a closer look at the different forms of plant life.

The park has well-maintained paths, benches and well-kept lawns that invite visitors to walk and relax. The paths, seating and lawns offer different ways to enjoy the park. It also provides a refuge for numerous animal species, especially birds, bats and insects. Walking paths and trees are therefore complemented by the park’s importance as a habitat.

Church, town hall and Cubist architecture

The Church of St Mary Magdalene is a Baroque church dating from 1728 to 1737. The town hall represents a different historical period: it is a monument to the Czech Renaissance from the mid-16th century. A Baroque façade was added after the fire of 1772. The town hall thus illustrates a sequence over time: a Renaissance building and a later Baroque design feature.

The Lázeňský pavilon Gočár was built between 1910 and 1913 in the spa complex of Lázně Bohdaneč and is one of the few buildings in the Cubist style. In terms of period, the selection ranges from the 16th-century town hall to the pavilion of the early 20th century; the church and the Baroque town hall façade offer separate connections to the Baroque period. The buildings thus offer a variety of architectural points of interest for your visit.
