River landscapes, cycling routes and locally rooted history are at the heart of Troubky. The confluence of the Morava and Bečva rivers, routes within the cadastral area and several historic memorial sites offer different starting points for planning your trip. You can decide in advance whether you would like to focus your stay on nature, outdoor activities or cultural history.

River Landscapes and Nature

The confluence of the Morava and Bečva rivers is one of Troubky’s natural attractions. Troubky weir, with its small hydroelectric plant, also offers interesting scenery. The Zástudánčí National Nature Reserve is another natural attraction in the vicinity of Troubky. Its remote location and difficult access make it one of the most important quiet zones for disturbance-sensitive bird species; access restrictions may apply in some areas. The reserve is also home to a small population of Kessler’s gudgeon.

Cycling in Troubky

The Bečva Cycle Route crosses the cadastral area of Troubky, while the Moravian Trail crosses its southern part. A local cycling route leads through the Troubky floodplain forests towards Chropyně or Lobodice. The route descriptions therefore cover the cadastral area as a whole, its southern part and a local route with two named directions. Surfaces and signage may change, so check the latest route information before setting out on a specific ride.

Cultural Monuments and Local History

The statue of St Florian in the park in front of the school is a registered cultural monument and a fine Baroque work dating from around 1750. After restoration, it was moved from Dřevohostice to Troubky in 1970. In the local cemetery, the also-registered statue of St Amand commemorates the averting of a plague epidemic. The High Baroque work, dating from the mid-18th century, is attributed to B. Fritsch; it was moved to the cemetery in the early 20th century.

The memorials also commemorate different events. The registered memorial to six American airmen in the local cemetery recalls an aerial battle over the municipality on 17 December 1944. Beside the church in Troubky stands a memorial to those killed in the First World War, dating from 1922. It bears the names and photographs of 57 local residents who died in the war. A memorial in the park by the cultural centre commemorates the victims of the 1997 floods.

The church of St Margaret, Virgin and Martyr, existed by 1672 at the latest; at that time it was a small church with one altar and two bells. Construction of a new church began in 1870, and its solemn consecration followed on 7 July 1872. These dates add a longer historical perspective on Troubky to the monuments.

Folklore and Events

The Hanák folklore ensemble keeps the folk traditions of Haná alive through Hanák songs and dances, and performs at regional and international folklore festivals. Hanák organises two cultural events in Troubky each year: “Předvánoční posezení u cimbálu” and “Folklorní hodové slavnosti”. If you would like to plan your visit around one of the events, check the dates for the current edition. Hanák also organises a “Masopustní průvod” in Troubky every year.
