Vojkovice lies in a valley at the confluence of the LuÄŤina, HolÄŤina, and RaÄŤok streams. Several distinct themes are central to planning a trip here: a tour of Pivovar KonĂÄŤek, cultural and historical landmarks, and a hiking route and a cycling route. If you are looking for a hotel in Vojkovice, you can choose where to stay based on whether you are most interested in the brewery, walking, cycling, or history.

Brewery Tour and Refreshments

The tour of the Pivovar Koníček brewery explains the entire brewing process, from the brewhouse equipment through fermentation and the lagering cellar to bottling. The stops show the individual stages of beer production. The tour also includes an agricultural museum, so alongside the brewing process, another area focused on agriculture forms part of the visitor experience. Šalanda is open as a public brewery restaurant on weekends. For specific planning, check the tour reservation details and the restaurant’s current opening days separately, as this information may change.

Culture and Local History

The Chapel of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary was completed and consecrated in 1890. A statue of Saint Francis of Assisi is listed in the state register of cultural monuments; it was restored in 2014.

Vojkovice was founded around 1500. The former production of the herbal liqueur “Vojkovická hořká” is also part of the town’s history: it was made from medicinal herbs from the Beskydy foothills and distilled in Vojkovice until 1952. The distilling tradition ended in 1952. The town’s beginnings and a later chapter of local production thus sit side by side.

Hiking the “Vojkovické toulky”

The “Vojkovické toulky” hiking route is easy and 5.5 km long. Along the way, sidewalks and paved roads alternate with forest and gravel paths; the route also has three short, steep climbs. So while it is rated easy, it includes specific climbs that you may want to consider when planning your own hike. The route ends at Výletiště, which offers opportunities for active and passive recreation. Its length, changing surfaces, climbs, and endpoint give you different ways to judge whether the hike fits your day’s plans.

Cycling Route and Train

Cycling Route 6005 passes through Vojkovice and forms a circuit via Frýdek-Místek, Žermanice, Domaslavice, Nošovice, and Raškovice. Unlike the 5.5 km hiking route, it is described as a circuit passing through a series of named places. This lets you distinguish the two options by activity and route format. As local routes can change, it is advisable to check the current route before setting out.

The single-track railway line 322 between Frýdek-Místek and Český Těšín also runs through Vojkovice. Dobratice pod Prašivou station is within the territory of Vojkovice, about 1.9 km from the town center. For a specific journey, check the current timetables, as schedules and services may change.

The “Koníčkův den” beer festival takes place every year in June. Check the current date before your trip so your plans match the event date.
