Three local themes offer different perspectives for a stay in Běleč Nad Orlicí: two cycling routes, the Bělečský písník natural monument and Pivovar a hostinec U Hušků. If you are looking for a hotel in the area, you can first decide whether cycling, nature or brewing history is most important for your trip. The routes can be compared by their difficulty ratings, the types of bicycles specified and their courses. At the natural monument, restricted access is important alongside its distinctive habitats; the brewery offers a different local connection through its history and the specific beers on offer.

Cycling on two different routes

The “Za Carem na kole” route runs from Hradec Králové via Svinary to Běleč Nad Orlicí. It is rated easy and is suitable for road bikes and trekking bikes. “Přírodním parkem Orlice” passes through Běleč Nad Orlicí, is rated easy to moderate and is suitable for mountain bikes and cross bikes. In direct comparison, the first route has an easier rating, while the second also includes a moderate difficulty level; the types of bicycles they are suitable for also differ. Their described courses are different, too: Hradec Králové and Svinary are part of the first route’s sequence of places before it reaches Běleč Nad Orlicí, while the second route passes through the town. Your choice can therefore focus on specific differences in bicycle type, difficulty rating and route course.

Natural monument with restricted access

Bělečský písník has been a natural monument since 1983. Its wetter habitats are home to the largest population of round-leaved sundew in eastern Bohemia. Its clear water already makes it a very popular destination. For travelers interested in nature, access conditions are just as important to their plans as its protected status: the Bělečský písník protected area is not open to the public.

Brewing history and three types of beer

Another local highlight is Pivovar a hostinec U Hušků. Construction of the microbrewery in the western part of the establishment was completed in the summer of 1993. The establishment offers Bělečský car, Bělečská carevna and Bělečská včelka beers. All three are brewed in-house and unfiltered: Bělečský car is a 12° lager, Bělečská carevna is a 13° dark beer, and Bělečská včelka is a 12° lager with a honey flavor. Two varieties are therefore lagers with the same degree rating, while Carevna has a different profile as a 13° dark beer; the honey flavor belongs to Včelka. Pivovar a hostinec U Hušků is also next to a busy cycling route. In addition to its history and range of beers, the establishment therefore has a direct connection to cycling.
