When planning your stay, you can decide whether the town’s history, the Easter season, or a bus connection is the main factor for you.

Watercourses and the town’s location

The Zlonínský potok flows through Nová Ves. At the eastern edge, the Měšický potok joins the Zlonínský potok. This identifies two distinct geographical reference points: a stream running through the town and a confluence at its edge. When you are getting your bearings, this distinction helps you tell the course of one waterway apart from the location where the other joins it.

Chapel and historical traces

The Chapel of Saints Peter and Paul stands in the center of Nová Ves. It was consecrated on June 29, 1934. A small bell tower on the village green also dates from 1934. The year connects both details but refers to different things: for the chapel, it is the date of its consecration; for the bell tower, it is its date. This provides two distinct points of reference from the same year for understanding the town’s history.

Other historical points of reference can be found by roads and at the edge of the town. At the junction of the roads to Mratín and Jiřice stands a cast-iron cross on a concrete base. A second, identical cast-iron cross is located at the town’s edge, on the road to Měšice. The two crosses share their material and construction, but their stated locations differ: one stands at a road junction, the other at the edge of the town.

Archaeological finds are also part of Nová Ves’s history. Finds from the Late Eneolithic were discovered during construction of the road toward Mratín in the second half of the 1920s. The classification of the finds and the time they were discovered should be distinguished: the Late Eneolithic refers to the dating of the finds, while the 1920s refers to when they were discovered during road construction.

Easter rattling and travel dates

The Easter rattling procession in Nová Ves takes place from Maundy Thursday to Holy Saturday; its schedule may vary from year to year. Organizers also ensure that fixed rules are followed. They are called “Páni.” The tradition can therefore be described both by when it takes place and by its named leadership role. If you would like to plan your trip around the Easter rattling, check the dates for the relevant year before deciding when to stay.

Bus connection and sports complex

The Nová Ves (PH) stop is a specific point of reference when planning your journey. PID bus route 351 serves it on the route between Letňany and Neratovice. This information is based on the PID timetable published on September 1, 2026; timetable data may change when updates are issued. So if you are relying on this route, check the connection and departure times for your travel date.

The TJ Sokol Nová Ves sports complex is at the northern edge of the settlement, on the cadastral boundary with Čakovičky and by the Žebrák pond. Its location is therefore described both by the settlement’s northern edge and by the neighboring pond. The program may vary. If you would like to plan your stay around a specific program, check the details for the relevant dates.
