Neveklov offers several points of interest for a stay: sacred architecture, Jewish heritage, exhibitions and a well-known cycling route. If you are planning a hotel stay, you can consider whether church architecture, local history or a cycling tour should be your main focus.

Church Architecture from Different Periods

St. Havel Church may have already existed in the 13th century. Its masonry is probably largely Gothic; architectural elements from the 13th and 14th centuries are incorporated into the surrounding wall.

The Chapel of the Virgin Mary offers a different architectural accent. The small Baroque building dates from 1700 and opens onto four arcades. Taken together, the church and chapel offer a comparison across periods and styles: at St. Havel, the focus is on its probable early existence and predominantly Gothic masonry, while at the chapel it is on its Baroque design and four arcades.

Jewish Heritage in Neveklov

About 160 gravestones have been preserved in the Jewish cemetery. The cemetery is locked; you can borrow a key from the city office cashier. Check the key arrangements again locally before your visit so you can plan accordingly.

The synagogue is an unadorned building on the south side of Táborská Street, east of the square. The building currently requires extensive repairs. The cemetery and synagogue thus represent different aspects of Jewish heritage in Neveklov: the preserved gravestones and controlled access on the one hand, and a plain building and its physical condition on the other.

Audio Guide and Exhibitions

You can explore Neveklov with the Smartguide audio guide. For several years, the information centre has hosted an exhibition of works by local painter and graphic artist Miroslav Mašek. Additional exhibitions are also held there throughout the year. These offerings have different focuses: the audio guide is designed to help you explore Neveklov, while the exhibition focuses on works by a particular local artist.

If you are especially interested in art, the exhibition devoted to Miroslav Mašek offers a specific point of interest. The additional exhibitions held throughout the year complement this offering with changing themes. When planning your visit, you can therefore choose between exploring with the Smartguide and focusing on exhibitions.

Cycling Route and Castle Park

Neveklov lies on the well-known Greenways Praha–Vídeň cycling route. Before setting out on a cycling tour, check whether the route still goes by this name. This lets you consider the route as one possible focus for your stay without conflating it with the cultural and historical sights in town.

The castle park in the Tloskov district is freely accessible. Check the access arrangements again shortly before your visit. The castle park adds another possible activity, distinct from churches, the cemetery, the synagogue or exhibitions.
