Båring Beach combines a narrow coastal strip with beach meadows and several ways to explore the surrounding area. When planning your trip, the area offers some specific points of reference: from the character of the beach to a walking route, sea trout fishing and picnic facilities.

Beach and protected coastal landscape

Båring Beach is about 1.2 km long. Along its entire length, it consists of a 5–10 m-wide strip of sand and small stones. Behind the beach, a beach meadow with mixed low-growing vegetation stretches along most of the coast.

Båring Beach is in a coastal area with nature protected under Section 3, including dry grassland and beach meadows. The beach meadow facing the sea at the Båring Vig shelter site is also protected under Section 3 of the Danish Nature Protection Act.

Walking trails and finding your way around Båring Vig

Route 7 passes by Båring Vig. This inner basin was formed by a glacier advance 20,000 years ago. Along Route 7, Båring Beach has toilets, tables with benches, parking and a bathing beach.

The Båring Vig walking route is a varied 5 km walk through forest, fields and coastal scenery.

A day at the beach and the shelter site

There is a purpose-built beach volleyball court at Båring Beach. The water remains shallow all the way to the end of the jetty, making the beach suitable for children.

The Båring Vig shelter site has two identical shelters of the “Stenbideren” type, each with room for five people. The two shelters are about 180 m from the water, where swimming is possible. Together, they can accommodate ten people.

Sea trout fishing and conservation areas

Båring Beach is designated Havørred Fyn Hotspot No. 113. Sea trout fishing here includes wading along the sandbanks and casting over the dark belts.

Two conservation areas are important for finding your way around the fishing area: On the west side, opposite Aulby Mølleå, there is a year-round conservation area. On the east side, at the small trout stream, a seasonal conservation area applies from 15 September through 15 March. When planning, be sure to distinguish between the different periods and sides of the fishing area.

The legend of the giant Ranke

A local legend is also part of the area’s story: a children’s rhyme about the giant Ranke has been passed down here for centuries. According to local tradition about Ranke, he is said to be buried somewhere between Båring and the beach.

Picnics in Båring Forest

Båring Forest is nearby. It has a large lawn where picnics are possible, as well as a picnic table and a toilet. Facilities may change, so check before your visit whether the picnic table and toilet are still available.
