When looking for a hotel in Glamsbjerg, your reason for visiting may be decisive: are cultural history and technology your priorities, or would you like to include some exercise? The themes range from textile and industrial history to vehicles and signposted cycling routes. By deciding which interests matter most to you in advance, you can choose a focus for your stay.

Weaving, Vehicles and Cinema

The Hørvævsmuseet presents textile and industrial history through a collection of handlooms and machine-operated Jacquard looms. This places different weaving techniques at the heart of the museum. Tours about the history of weaving and the processing of flax add information about the raw material and how it is processed. For a break, the museum has a café serving coffee or tea, cake and light meals.

The Škoda Museum Danmark displays 30 vehicles from the Škoda brand; the oldest dates from 1937. A free audio guide for smartphones covers the brand’s history and the vehicles in the museum. This lets you combine a closer look at the collection with information about both topics. Glamsbjerg Biograf is a small local cinema that shows one film at a time.

Traces of Different Eras

Drengehøj is a typical Bronze Age burial mound dating from 1800 to 500 BC and is now a prominent feature of the cultural landscape. A stone with so-called cup marks can also be seen at Drengehøj; the depressions are about the size of apples. This gives you a specific example of a visible detail alongside the burial mound’s historical context.

With its Neoclassical main building and thatched farmyard, Krengerup Gods is one of the best-preserved Danish manor complexes of the 18th century. Classical concerts, tours of the historic rooms and other events are often held both inside and outside the building. Check the dates of individual events if you are planning your stay around one. For Krengerupstierne, parking is available, among other places, at Glamsbjerg Golfklub.

In the area around Glamsbjerg, Vestfyns Hjemstavnsgård is part of a well-preserved village with three closely spaced farms. They were not relocated in the 18th century. The village and the arrangement of its farms bring the traditional settlement pattern into focus. The Hesle Nygaard 1844 walnut plantation tells a different kind of story: it came about almost by chance, from walnuts sown by the old tree in the garden. The plantation’s trees were grown from seeds from the old parent tree or the best trees in the plantation.

Exercise and Landscape

Glamsdalens Bikepark has a mountain bike trail about 3 kilometres long. Green, blue, red and black arrows mark the route. It is located on the grounds of Glamsdalens Idrætsefterskole; use of the trail is free. Check current access arrangements before setting off. Søholmstien in Glamsbjerg is a 3 to 5 kilometre exercise route. The similar lengths make it easy to compare the routes, while their names distinguish the mountain bike trail from the exercise route.

Vestfyns Golfklub also offers a connection to the landscape: several holes are surrounded by green countryside and abundant wildlife. Friluftsbadet in Glamsbjerg was established in 1935 as part of Glamsbjerg Hotel. It will remain closed in 2026 due to an upcoming major renovation. If you are planning a trip after 2026, check the outdoor pool’s status again.
