Crklada lies along the D21 state road, the road between Buje and Pula. The trails through and near the village, its winemaking tradition and a Gothic chapel are the main points of reference when choosing a destination. The hiking trails have different focuses: one passes through Crklada and offers visits to local producers; another explores the cultural landscape and follows part of the former Parenzana railway line.

Hiking and Landscape near Crklada

The 6.9 km SRCE VIŽINADE 504 hiking trail passes through Bajkini, Vranje Selo and Crklada in the southwest of the Municipality of Vižinada. For visitors interested in hiking, Crklada is a specific point of reference on this route. Along the way, visits to local winegrowers and olive growers, with tastings of their products, are possible. The participating businesses may change over time; check current information and trail conditions before setting out.

The Trail of Scenic Views 501 has a different focus. It passes through fertile fields, vineyards and olive groves before reaching a road near Crklada. Before reaching the road, the trail crosses the former narrow-gauge Parenzana railway line. From the road near Crklada and Grubići, there are views across gentle hills planted with vines and young olive trees. The trail also reaches Veli most, also known as the Sabadin Viaduct or Saint Vital, on the Parenzana. The two trails therefore have distinct focuses: Route 504 passes through Crklada and offers visits to producers, while Trail 501 focuses on the landscape and the former railway line.

Winemaking and Cultural Heritage

Vina Mandić produces a semi-dry rosé made from 100% Cabernet Franc, associated with vineyards in Crklada. The product profile may change with future vintages. The information about the grape variety and wine style offers a specific insight into local winemaking, but does not imply that this producer offers visits or tastings.

A Gothic chapel dedicated to Saint Anne stands near Crklada. It dates from the 19th century; in 1882, it was commissioned as a memorial to Anna de Wagatey. The chapel is a distinct cultural point of interest near the village, while the routes, with their vineyards, olive groves and former railway line, highlight other aspects of the landscape.

The Wider Area: Municipality of Vižinada

In the wider destination of the Municipality of Vižinada, Vižinada sits on a hill on the southern edge of the Mirna Valley. From Vižinada, there are sweeping views of the surrounding countryside, vineyards and olive groves. This regional setting complements the landscape along the trails near Crklada, without conflating the wider destination with the village itself.

The architectural landmarks mentioned are also located in Vižinada. A stone relief of the Lion of Saint Mark, dating from the 15th century, is preserved in the central square. Also in the square is a cistern, completed in 1782 to a design by the architect Simone Battistella from Rovinj and built from local limestone. The lapidarium beside Vižinada's bell tower contains five Roman inscriptions. When choosing a destination, you can therefore decide whether to focus mainly on trails and wine-related attractions near Crklada or on the architectural and stone monuments in the town of Vižinada.
