Mareda can be considered for trip planning through three specific themes: the coastline, cycling and the history of the former campsite. Along the coast, different shoreline types meet a quieter stretch in the north; Cycle Route 8 runs through the area and can be assessed by its length, difficulty rating and duration. These features can help you evaluate the destination based on your own interests before looking for a hotel.

Coast and beach

Mareda’s beach is considered family-friendly and extends for around 500 metres of coastline. Pebbles, rocks and concrete can be found along Mareda’s coast; the beach at Aminess Planet Camping Maravea Pitches is pebbly and rocky. North of the developed section of Aminess Maravea Camping Resort, the coast is quieter and more natural. This stretch is suitable for a morning swim and relaxing time by the sea. The family-friendly character and information about the surface address two different questions: the character of the coastal surroundings and the nature of the shoreline. At the beach at Aminess Planet Camping Maravea Pitches, a paved sun terrace with sun loungers, parasols and a bar surrounds the infinity pool. This layout distinguishes the pool area from the quieter, more natural stretch of coast. Facilities may vary seasonally. This gives you different aspects to consider: which shoreline surface matters to you, and are you more interested in the quieter northern coast or the pool area?

Cycle Route 8 and walking paths

The official Cycle Route 8, titled “Novigrad – From the Sea to the Vineyards and Olive Groves”, runs through Mareda. It is 19 kilometres long, is rated easy and has an estimated duration of one hour and 30 minutes. After the section in Mareda, the route continues along unpaved paths near vineyards and olive groves. The 19 kilometres and estimated duration apply to the entire route. The easy rating describes the cycle route as a whole; the unpaved surface, by contrast, applies to the section after Mareda. Length, rating and surface are separate planning considerations: they provide a time frame on the one hand and an indication of the surface later on the other. The Karpinjan promenade is also relevant when choosing how to get around, as walking or running along the promenade leads to Mareda. This means a cycling tour with route details and getting around on foot or by running are two different options.

The resort’s history and facilities

The former Mareda campsite opened in 1971 and is now Aminess Planet Camping Maravea Resort in Novigrad. The resort offers a pool complex with a playground and slides; these resort facilities may vary seasonally. La Gradela at the resort serves Istrian cuisine, steaks, aged meat and burgers. The restaurant’s offerings may also change over time. If you are planning a meal at La Gradela, it is best to check the current menu in advance.
