Zagorje: Discover Beaches and Hotels
Accommodation in Zagorje
Zagorje is a coastal destination whose public beaches lie in pebble coves along a predominantly rocky shoreline. The three beaches are Bobina, Brestova and Stupova. When choosing a hotel in Zagorje, this range of landscapes can be a helpful starting point: what matters is not just the general coastal setting, but also which of the three places interests you most. The beach descriptions differ considerably: Bobina Beach is set in wooded surroundings, while Stupova Beach is a pebble cove beneath the canyon of the intermittently flowing Supoti watercourse.
Zagorje’s Coastal Locations
Bobina Beach is on the east coast at the foot of Zagorje. Bobina Beach is set in a preserved, wooded environment that provides shade; vegetation and shade may vary seasonally. Stupova Beach has a different coastal setting: the pebble cove lies beneath the canyon of the intermittently flowing Supoti watercourse. This makes it possible to clearly distinguish the described landscapes: at Bobina, the woodland setting defines the beach; at Stupova, it is the combination of the pebble cove and canyon.
Access conditions also set the two beach locations apart. Bobina Beach has no vehicle access. Stupova Beach is also inaccessible by vehicle and has no public infrastructure. Access conditions at Bobina may change if improvements are made; future coastal works may alter conditions at Stupova. So check the current situation before visiting.
Brestova Beach consists of two pebble beach locations within Brestova Bay. One of the two lies directly below the ferry terminal. If the terminal is relevant to your plans, check the latest operational information: the beach location and terminal operations are separate matters. Together with the different landscapes, Brestova offers another specific point to consider when choosing among the coastal locations.
