Velika Rakovica and Mirnovec Manor
Accommodation in Velika Rakovica
Mirnovec Manor stands in Velika Rakovica, a late Baroque estate of the Reiser family set in an extensive park. The building is classified as a second-category cultural monument. For travellers who also consider historic architecture when choosing a place to stay, it offers a tangible connection to the history of the area.
Mirnovec Manor: Architecture and History
Its late Baroque classification, connection to the Reiser family and status as a cultural monument describe different aspects of the manor: its architectural period, family history and significance as protected cultural heritage. Together with the park, these features give Velika Rakovica a clearly defined cultural and historical focus.
The manor’s history includes a National Party gathering in 1870, a performance by the Kolo choir, music by Ivan Zajc and early paintings by Nikola Reiser. These connections span a political gathering, music and painting. They show that the house’s recorded history encompasses more than its late Baroque design; each detail retains its own distinct historical context.
