Discover Drenta through its cycling and hiking routes, river landscape, and historical connections. Route No. 7 takes cyclists from Todyuvtsi towards Drenta; south of the village lies Shipkov Rat Hill. There are also cultural attractions in Drenta and the surrounding area. For your trip planning, you can distinguish between route options by duration, surface, and direction.

Cycling on Route No. 7

Route No. 7 takes cyclists from Todyuvtsi towards Drenta. One section runs for almost 15 km alongside the river, from Bagalevtsi via Todyuvtsi to Drenta. Between Drenta and Badevtsi, several kilometres are on unpaved roads. Above Drenta, the route climbs steeply and then descends towards Badevtsi.

Route No. 7 is rated as technically undemanding; its duration is given as 4 to 8 hours, depending on pace and breaks. The technical rating and the time frame answer different questions: a low rating does not mean the tour is short.

Check the route description and surface conditions before setting off. Unpaved sections can change due to weather and maintenance.

Rivers and Historical Traces

South of Drenta, Shipkov Rat Hill lies between the Veselina and Bozhechka rivers. It is considered a recreational spot for Drenta residents. The settlement of Drenta is also described as part of the ancient Roman road Via Traiana.

Kaleto Fortress lies 1.54 km southwest of Drenta. It guarded an ancient road; little of the structure remains. The Church of the Presentation of the Mother of God is also located in the village. Its murals date to 1871 and are attributed to the Tryavna icon painters Zahari Tsanyuv and his son Kancho.

The route descriptions offer different points of reference: Route No. 7 focuses on the riverside section and the time range; the other route highlights the places it passes through and its connection to the E-3.

Fishing, mushroom picking, and herb gathering are listed as nature-based activities in the area around Drenta. Whether these activities are suitable during your stay depends on the season, access, and local conditions.
