Other natural and cultural attractions are located in the wider destination of Tran.
Church and Route in Vukan
The Church of St. George is located in Vukan. It dates from the Renaissance period and is designated a cultural monument. This makes it a specific cultural and historical point of reference when planning a stay. Its classification as a building from this period and its monument status are the main focus.
Route 102 passes through Vukan and crosses the Vukanshtitsa. The municipality’s tourism program for 2021–2027 lists it as 23 kilometers long, with an approximate duration of two hours. The time is a guideline; route markings and ground conditions may change. Check both before setting out, and treat the duration as an estimate when planning.
Nature in the wider destination of Tran
At the municipal level, the Vukanska Basin in Tran is described as a habitat for wild species; the Vukanshtitsa is considered a body of water of interest to anglers. These natural features complement Route 102’s connection to the river with a glimpse of the wider municipality.
The Yablanitsa Gorge lies between Vrabcha, Transka Bankya, and the town of Tran, and was formed by the Yablanitsa River. It is designated a natural monument in the territories of the town of Tran and the village of Bankya. The trail through the gorge starts in Transka Bankya; an ecological trail passes through karst-erosion landforms and nature rich in species.
The four-meter-high Vrabcha Waterfall is located in the area of the village of Vrabcha, in Tran Municipality, and is designated a natural monument. Alongside the waterfall, water has carved out a 20-meter-deep rock tunnel. A small path beside the road to Vrabcha follows the Vrabchanska River and reaches the waterfall after about a 15-minute walk.
