The Pram River and several hiking trails give Gumping a distinctive landscape. When planning your trip, you can choose between numbered routes, the riverside landscape, and culture at Diersbach Parish Church. This makes it easier to decide whether a specific route length, a distinctive landscape, or a cultural focus matters most to you.

Hiking trails with different highlights

The Pramtalweg is 8.40 kilometers long; Zur alten Linde covers 6.30 kilometers. The two route lengths can therefore be compared directly: Zur alten Linde is 2.10 kilometers shorter. Near Gumping, the Pramtalweg runs between the unspoiled Pram River and a flood relief channel. A ford crosses the channel, and conditions there may vary by season. Check the trail details locally before setting out, particularly if you need to factor the crossing into your day’s plans.

The Wöginger Runde offers different scenery: it passes through fields, meadows, and patches of woodland, with panoramic views of the Alpine foothills. The route passes Alpaca-Gut Herrnberg, where walks with alpacas can be booked. If you would like to include this activity in your plans, check current booking availability. You should also check local trail conditions before setting out.

The Diersbacher Sagenweg is a circular trail that starts at Wirt z'Waging. It passes through a mystical stretch along the Schnoizn and takes a side trail to Teufl sein Predigtstuhl. The trail is connected with local legends. This sets it apart thematically from routes focused on length or scenery.

The Pram Landscape and Woodland

In Gumping, a small patch of woodland lies beside an orchard on a gentle slope. Ash trees are the predominant species, and an oak also grows there. Southwest of Gumping, a stretch of riparian woodland runs along both banks of the Pram and includes oak, ash, maple, alder, and willow. Between Inding and Gumping, riparian woodland follows the left bank of the natural Pram River.

An ecological description from 1984 records a shrub stand of almond willow and white willow by the Pram in Gumping, as well as flowering crack willows. It also mentions white-flowering caraway in the inner bend of the Pram meander. These details add plant observations from that time to the picture of the riverside landscape. The municipality of Diersbach also has near-natural stretches along the Pram and Pfudabach: they run in winding to meandering courses and are accompanied by gallery forests. Patches of woodland and small wooded areas also lie between Gumping, Anding, and Antersham.

Church and Regional Cuisine

Diersbach Parish Church houses the Dr. Karl Mayr organ. It is considered the second-largest organ in the Schärding district and the fourth-largest in the Innviertel region. The church is open daily from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; tours can be arranged by appointment with the Diersbach parish office. Check opening hours and appointment arrangements before your visit.

Wirt z'Waging serves Innviertel specialties and traditional dishes. These are prepared using ingredients including bacon, milk, and beef and veal from its own small farm. If you would like to dine there, check the latest visitor information in advance.
