Treubach brings together historic churches and chapels, hiking opportunities and offerings from the Pfesch private brewery. If you are looking for a hotel for your stay, these different highlights can help inform your travel plans: architectural history, time outdoors or a beer experience. Treubach also offers opportunities for fishing and shopping for local produce at small farm shops.

Churches and local history

The beautifully restored Treubach parish church is at the heart of the town and is surrounded by a cemetery. It was built in the Gothic style and later given a Baroque makeover. Its Baroque interior includes lattice-band stucco by Johann Michael Vierthaler, dating from 1729. The date refers to this decorative feature; the church itself combines it with an earlier Gothic building phase and subsequent alterations.

The 1465 letter of indulgence is another historical reference point for Treubach's Church of Mary: according to the letter, it held the special status of a church of indulgence and pilgrimage. Its historical significance thus complements its architectural features with a religious dimension.

The Bründl Chapel was built in 1737, west of and below the parish church. In 1945, returning soldiers from the Second World War rebuilt the chapel; since then, it has also been known as the Homecoming Chapel. A spring lies next to the chapel and is traditionally believed to have healing properties for eye ailments. This belief is part of the local tradition associated with the chapel's history.

Hiking and other activities

Treubach has a well-developed network of hiking trails for relaxing excursions, including peaceful forest paths. The trail network offers routes to explore, while the forest paths highlight the tranquil side of hiking. If you enjoy exploring on foot, this offers a different focus from the fishing opportunities also available. Small farm shops provide another option for buying local products.

Brewery experiences at Pfesch

At the brewing seminar offered by the Pfesch private brewery, you can take part in brewing beer and work alongside the brewer; no prior knowledge is required. This distinguishes the seminar from a guided tour, which includes tastings of different beer styles from the Innviertel beer region. The Innviertel beer picnic includes a rowboat ride on the pond. The offerings therefore have different highlights: hands-on brewing, tastings during guided tours or a boat ride as part of the picnic.

Depending on the weather, the beer picnic can be booked from mid-April to mid-October. Check availability for your preferred date, as seasonal information and booking details may change. When comparing the options, consider whether you would like to brew beer yourself, taste different beer styles or combine the picnic with a rowboat ride.
