There are several ways to plan an excursion in Lanersbach: a moderately challenging hike with a set destination, the gondola lift to Eggalm, as well as winter activities and summer concerts. The hike can be assessed by its distance and approximate duration; the cable car and winter activities depend on seasonal operating schedules and snow conditions.

Hiking and the cable car

The Rosenkranzweg leads from the parish church in Tux-Lanersbach to the “Kapellstein” forest chapel. This moderately challenging hike is 3 km long and takes about 1.5 hours one way. Along the way, the trail passes through the hamlet of Gemais and continues across the “Pfistereben” pasture to the Lattenalm. The estimated time is for one direction and helps you fit the excursion into your day. Conditions vary seasonally, so check them before setting off.

Another option for an excursion is the gondola lift operated by Eggalm Bahnen, which runs from Lanersbach to the Eggalm mountain station at an altitude of 2,000 metres. The mountain station is the starting point for numerous hikes. The two options therefore differ when it comes to planning your day: the Rosenkranzweg is a single moderately challenging route with an approximate duration, while numerous hikes start from one shared point at Eggalm. The gondola lift operates seasonally. If you plan to ride up the mountain, check the operating times for your stay.

Winter activities and summer concerts

For a winter stay, there is also the Auenloipe between Tux-Vorderlanersbach and Tux-Lanersbach. It is 2.5 km long, with access points at the ice rink in Tux-Lanersbach and at the Hinterangerbrücke. Grooming and snow conditions vary. Tux-Lanersbach also has a large ice rink for skating; this activity is seasonal too. The cross-country ski trail and the ice rink offer different ways to spend a winter’s day: the trail has a stated length and access points, while the ice rink is for skating. If you plan to take advantage of either, keep seasonal conditions in mind.

The Tux Federal Music Band gives weekly summer concerts from the end of June through September. This timeframe can help you choose your travel dates if you would like to attend a concert. In addition, the Catholic Parish Church of St. Thomas with its mortuary chapel is protected as a historic monument under an ordinance. The Tyrolean register of monuments dated 28 May 2024 lists it as protected. If you would like to include music and cultural heritage in your travel plans, these offer two different points of interest: a summer concert and a protected historic building.
