Kirchbichl lies directly on the Inn and combines a distinctive village centre with places of cultural and historical interest, a traditional moor lido and activities for cycling and sports enthusiasts. The parish church stands at the centre; from Kirchbichl, the Inn Cycle Path leads via Kufstein and on to Erl. When planning your trip, it is worth looking into historical sites, activities on the water and specific event dates.

Church, Village Character and Early History

The present-day parish church of Kirchbichl, Our Lady of the Assumption, dates from the 14th century and was renovated by Jakob Singer in 1735. It is a listed building and the village’s landmark, visible from far away. Its location in the village centre makes it one of the defining features of the local landscape. Its construction history, later renovation and protected status give the church several historical layers that come together during a stay in the village.

South of Kirchbichl lies Grattenbergl, a rising rocky outcrop. It was the site of the largest fortified Hallstatt-period settlement in North Tyrol. The village landscape therefore brings together different historical references: the parish church in today’s centre and an archaeologically significant settlement site to the south. Those interested in the history of the village will find a connection to the Hallstatt period here, alongside the church building.

Inn Cycle Path and Moor Lido

Kirchbichl lies directly on the Inn. The section of the Inn Cycle Path from Kirchbichl to Kufstein and on to Erl is flat and fully paved. The route, surface and elevation profile provide practical points of reference when planning a cycling tour; this information applies to this section of the route.

The Kirchbichl Moor Lido was built in 1933/1934 and is one of Tyrol’s oldest outdoor swimming pools. It has a restaurant, a kiosk, a beach volleyball court, a tennis facility and a children’s playground. Swimming history and a range of leisure activities come together here: the facilities mentioned span everything from dining to sport and play.

Events, Sport and Food and Drink

The Kirchbichl Advent event will take place on Sunday, 13 December 2026, from 2 p.m., for its 24th edition. The programme includes Christmas music in the parish church, a traditional craft market and a Christmas workshop for children. The event combines a market visit with music and a dedicated activity for children.

In this way, shorter and longer multi-sport distances were offered alongside two aquathlon formats with specific names.

A tour of the Stolz distillery explains the production process, from mashing to bottling. The tour also includes a tasting of four premium spirits.
