Hiking and a puzzle trail on Gaisberg

On Gaisberg, easy to moderately difficult hikes lead to mountain huts and rewarding viewpoints. Another option is the GOASberg puzzle trail: it starts at the top station of the Gaisberg lift, follows a hiking trail suitable for children down into the valley and ends at the Obergaisberg inn. The route features eight puzzle stations, a man-made mountain lake and a small chapel steeped in legend. You can also experience the varied, unspoilt mountain and forest landscape of the KitzbĂĽhel Alps. Facilities and operations may be seasonal, so check the latest information about the trail in advance.

Mountain biking routes and downhill trail

The Gaisberg 4-seater chairlift provides access to Gaisberg and its varied mountain biking routes through the landscape of the KitzbĂĽhel Alps. The lift operates seasonally, so check its operating hours before planning a ride. One downhill trail on Gaisberg in Kirchberg is the Lisi-Osl-Trail: it is 2.3 kilometres long and has 450 metres of elevation gain. As trail conditions and ratings may change, check the latest information before setting out.

History and the parish church

Kirchberg’s history includes settlement traces from the Late Bronze Age, dated to 1100–900 BC. Kirchberg Parish Church developed from a 13th-century Romanesque place of worship, through a Gothic rebuild in the 15th century, to the redesign and complete Baroque transformation of the church interior in the 18th century. These building phases trace its development from a Romanesque place of worship, through Gothic architecture, to the Baroque design of the interior. A large image of the Madonna by Michael Lackner, a church painter from Kirchberg, is on the exterior wall of the church tower.
