Alongside wine-related experiences, there are viewpoints and specific culinary offerings. When planning, it is worth distinguishing between tastings, tours available on request, and a dish that is only available by pre-order. This makes it easier to plan your stay around what you actually want to do.

Winegrowing and Tastings

On the Ried Kranach, around Weingut Grill, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc vines that are about half a century old are grown. The Ried and the two grape varieties give winegrowing here a distinct character.

Weingut Adam Amandus & Carmen offers wine tastings and wine sales. Most of the wines are made in the South Styrian style, characterized by freshness, fruit, clarity and a straightforward character. The winery asks guests to book in advance whenever possible so that tastings can take place reliably and without interruption.

You can also taste wine and take a tour of the winery at Weingut Wieser. In the winery’s G'wölb, tastings of wine, gin, schnapps and liqueur are available. At Buschenschank Peter Grill, you can, on request, visit the wine cellar and vineyards with Peter or Peter jun. and gain insights into wine culture. The offerings therefore differ depending on whether you are looking for a tasting, a winery tour, or a closer look at the cellar and vineyards.

Regional Cuisine, Planned Ahead

At the TOSO back&pick Backhendlstation, freshly prepared Styrian breaded fried chicken is available with or without skin, along with homemade potato salad. The station emphasizes regional products and traditional preparation. Orders can only be placed in advance via the back&pick hotline. If you are planning to have the fried chicken, be sure to order ahead of time through this channel.

At Buschenschank Peter Grill, carefully selected ingredients from its own production or from regional businesses are used. This adds a culinary focus to the opportunities there to explore the wine cellar and vineyards: in both cases, the products are connected with the business or the region.

Wine Landscapes, Chapels and Hiking Trails

Buschenschank Peter Grill is situated on elevated rolling terrain amid its own vineyards. From there, the panoramic view extends across South Styria and takes in vineyards, mixed forests, churches and lookout towers. Paker Chapel offers a different perspective: it stands on a hill surrounded by the gently rolling vineyards of South Styria and offers panoramic views across the vineyard landscape. At Peter Grill, the panorama is broad; at the chapel, the focus is on the wine country.

For a hike, the Kleeblattwanderweg No. 4 leads to Kranachberg and then gently downhill to Dreisiebner Chapel. When planning, note the different locations: Paker Chapel is associated with its hilltop panorama, while Dreisiebner Chapel is the destination of this trail.

A Family-Run Winery on Eichberg

Weingut Adam-Lieleg is located on Eichberg in South Styria and has been run as a family business since 1893. From the winery, the view stretches across the ridges to the evening sun. Alongside wine tastings and panoramas, this adds a long-established family business and a distinct view of the hilly landscape as different points to consider when planning your stay.
