Sankt Radegund Near Graz: Nature, Springs and Trails
Accommodation in Sankt Radegund Near Graz
For a stay in Sankt Radegund Near Graz, you can consider nature, exercise and longer routes as different focal points. Doktorteich is important for threatened and endangered species; the outdoor swimming pool, Workout Park and Kneipp Meditation Trail each offer different ways to be active. There are also two clearly distinct trail options.
Nature at Doktorteich
Doktorteich is an important biotope for threatened and endangered species and also the ecological centrepiece of the Ungarische Runde. It therefore brings together two aspects of nature: its importance as a habitat and its ecological role within the circuit. For travellers interested in nature and ecological connections, the pond is a focal point in its own right, alongside the sporting activities. Its importance for threatened and endangered species sets it apart from the leisure activities, which focus on exercise or water.
Outdoor Swimming, Training and Kneipp
The St. Radegund outdoor swimming pool at the St. Radegund leisure centre has a total water surface of around 495 m². This figure refers to the total water surface; “around” indicates that it is an estimate. The St. Radegund Workout Park offers a different kind of exercise: it is open and freely accessible year-round, and allows you to train using the calisthenics system, with your own body weight. Here, calisthenics refers to a training method that uses your own body weight.
The Kneipp Meditation Trail complements these options with individual Kneipp facilities for the arms, legs and whole body. The three activities have clearly distinct focuses: the water area at the outdoor pool, bodyweight training at the Workout Park and Kneipp facilities along the meditation trail. When planning your trip, you can first choose according to the kind of activity that interests you most.
Spring Trails and Circular Hike
The Sankt Radegund Spring Trails connect the springs that give them their name over a distance of more than 17 kilometres. They include 22 springs framed with elaborate architectural design. As well as the distance, the design of the springs is a specific feature of these trails.
The 23-kilometre Dr. Hans Fuchs long-distance circular trail, “Der Kreis schließt sich” (“The circle closes”), starts at the Kurhaus/Curcafé St. Radegund and leads back to St. Radegund. The two trail options differ in character: the 22 framed springs are the main feature of the Spring Trails, while the Dr. Hans Fuchs Trail is a circular route with a specified starting point and return to St. Radegund. Their distances are also stated differently: more than 17 kilometres for the Spring Trails and 23 kilometres for the circular trail. When choosing, consider both the theme of each route and its length.
Weather Tower and Getting There
The weather tower stands in the Rinnegg district and is a monument of local folklore and architectural history. In the past, its bell warned of bad weather. Its former function and status as a monument give the tower a cultural and historical focus alongside nature and exercise.
