Mühlberg can be explored via several specific routes. Three mountain biking routes share sections along the Güterweg Moserhof and on Mühlberg, but then head to different destinations. There is also a hiking route at Panorama Alm and a combined bike-and-hike tour from Bramberg via Mühlbach to Stangenjoch. If you are looking for a hotel for a stay in Mühlberg, these differences can help you first consider which type of tour interests you.

Mountain Biking Routes with Different Destinations

On the “Bramberg: 4C Pass Thurn” tour, the route climbs steadily along the Güterweg Moserhof to Mühlberg. It continues via Grub, Schrettlehengut and Wasenmoosweg to the middle station of the Panoramabahn. You can return to Mühlbach along the same route or extend the tour via the connecting routes 4I Plattwald or 6B Panoramarunde.

The “Bramberg: 4I Plattwald” mountain biking tour follows the Güterweg Moserhof up to Mühlberg as far as the Plattwald parking lot, then continues to the Resterhöhe reservoir. The “Bramberg: 4J Mörchenboden” tour also follows the Güterweg Moserhof to Mühlberg, then goes via Grub and the Plattwald parking lot to Peilbergalm. On route 4J, you can also ride a loop and return via Baumgartenalm in the Mühlbachtal. Thus, 4I and 4J differ in their onward destinations: after the Plattwald parking lot, 4I continues to the Resterhöhe reservoir; on 4J, the destination is Peilbergalm, or you can return via Baumgartenalm. Route conditions may vary seasonally; check them before setting out.

Hiking and Bike-and-Hike

There is also a clearly named route for walking: “Resterhöhe – Baumgartenalm” passes Panorama Alm. Its address is Mühlberg 52, 5733 Bramberg. This hiking route adds a different type of trail to the selection of mountain biking tours, and Panorama Alm is a specific point along its route.

The “Bike and Hike Bramberg - Hoher Rettenstein 2366m” tour follows a different sequence: from Bramberg, the route goes by mountain bike to Mühlbach. It then continues over Mühlberg through the forest, past several alpine pastures, to Stangenalm and onward to Stangenjoch. Mühlbach is therefore an intermediate point after the start in Bramberg, not the starting point of the entire route. If you are planning this tour, check access and local conditions.

To choose a route, you can first consider its format: 4C offers a choice between returning the way you came and taking a connecting route, while 4I and 4J differ in their named destinations. The hiking route and the combined bike-and-hike tour complement this selection with their own itineraries. This makes it possible to compare the tours by destination and activity type without treating their different routes as the same.
