In Krasang District, the Ban Thung Sawang OTOP Nawatwithi community is located along a creative tourism route in Moo 7 of Tambon Sung Noen. One highlight is a demonstration of traditional silk reeling, from selecting the silk cocoons to spinning the silk fibres. For those interested in textile crafts, this process makes silk production a tangible focus. The route also showcases local dishes such as Nam Phrik Jrawa Dong, a dip made with coconut milk and mackerel, as well as traditional Khanom Tom Mat in a coconut leaf. The dishes are prepared with fresh ingredients from the community and served with local vegetables and boiled eggs.

Agritourism and Rural Learning Sites

The Ban Nong Khon Organic Learning Centre is a site for agritourism based on the Khok-Nong-Na model and applies the principles of the Sufficiency Economy. Unlike the silk route, its focus is not on textile crafts and cuisine, but on an agricultural learning approach and its principles. Baan Na Baan Rao Farm opened in Tambon Chum Saeng on an area of nearly 200 rai as an integrated agricultural learning centre and a destination for combined agritourism. Its agricultural activities include growing several varieties of date palms, raising several breeds of cattle and practising organic farming. Together, the two sites showcase different aspects of agritourism: Ban Nong Khon features the model and the Sufficiency Economy, while the farm’s profile is shaped by crop cultivation, animal husbandry and organic farming.

Archaeological Traces and Culture

The ancient community of Ban Krasang is characterised by two concentric moats with a diameter of 0.6 kilometres. A description revised in 2021 notes that the moats and earthen embankments are partly preserved, although they are now barely discernible; some areas are used by local residents. Wat Cholprathan Ratchadamri is a Buddhist temple in Tambon Sung Noen, Krasang District, Buri Ram Province. On 11 July 2025, a Buddhist candle procession for the start of Buddhist Lent took place in Tambon Kantharom. It began at Wat Ban Don Yao and proceeded to a temple within the tambon.

In the Wider Buriram Destination

In the wider Buriram destination, Phanom Rung Historical Park sits on an extinct volcano in Ta Pek, in Chaloem Phra Kiat District, Buri Ram Province. Inscriptions and architectural remains indicate that the area around the park had been an ancient settlement since the 15th Buddhist century. The annual ascent tradition is associated with the first light of morning shining through all 15 gates; it takes place from 2 to 4 April or on the full moon day of the fifth lunar month. Check the specific dates when planning your trip, as the lunar calendar determines the alternative date.

Another scenic spot in the wider Buriram destination is Khao Kradong Forest Park, a recreation area with an ancient volcano and a clearly visible crater. A staircase of 297 steps leads to the summit; alternatively, you can drive to the top. Check the current conditions before travelling here as well.
