Consider whether you plan to spend most of your time on walks and activities in Lumut or also want to include destinations elsewhere in the municipal area. When considering a specific hotel offer, check the address provided and compare it with your plans.

Walks along the Lumut Waterfront

The Lumut Waterfront is a public coastal park in Bandar Lumut with a range of recreational and leisure facilities. Visitors can take a walk there and enjoy the sea views. The park’s design concept is inspired by the movement of marine life. Walks and sea views are thus complemented by a distinctive maritime design theme. Walks by the sea offer an alternative to kayaking and pedal boating on Marina Island.

Water activities on Marina Island

On Marina Island in Lumut, you can go kayaking and pedal boating. These rides can take place either in a lagoon with living seawater or on the open sea. Kayaking and pedal boating are considered suitable for all age groups and are offered as leisure and team-building activities. For your planning, the surroundings—lagoon or open sea—and the purpose of the activity—leisure or team building—therefore differ. If you are planning a ride, check current availability directly with the provider.

Lumut as a gateway to Pangkor

For travelers arriving by road or rail, Lumut serves as a starting point for onward travel to Pangkor. The Marina Island Jetty Complex in Lumut offers direct ferry connections to the island. Check current ferry services before departure and plan according to your travel date.

Mangroves in the municipal area

In the surrounding municipal area, a 366-meter-long, six-foot-wide path runs through the mangrove forest at Taman Paya Bakau. At the end are two huts where visitors can rest or fish. Along the path, they can experience the mangrove landscape and observe wildlife. Check the current condition of the path before visiting.

On March 17, 2023, planting mangrove seedlings was introduced as a new visitor activity at Taman Paya Bakau Bandar, near Lumut. If you would like to take part, check in advance whether planting will be offered on your visit date.

Fishing in the surrounding area

At the edge of Kampung Bharu, boats fish in the Sungai Manjung using nets and fishing rods. Kampung Bharu is 17 kilometers from Lumut. There are also kelong fishing platforms there that attract anglers. These fishing-related features complement the water activities in Lumut with another regional perspective on angling and local fisheries.
