Koschi: Culture and Travel Orientation
Accommodation in Koschi
You can plan your trip to Koschi around three specific points of interest: suburban transport, the community center, and the central library. If you are looking for a hotel in Koschi, these local landmarks can help you consider the area in terms of culture, getting around, and practical orientation.
Transport and getting around Koschi
Suburban routes 303, 320, and 323 run in Koschi. Route 323 runs along Republic Street, and route 320 along Khantau Street. The terminus for routes 303, 320, and 323 extends as far as White Hall on Uly Dala Street. Check the route and terminus again before you travel. These street names and the endpoint provide specific reference points for planning your journeys.
Community center: cinema, sports, and promenade
The community center can accommodate up to 1,000 people at a time. It houses a cinema with 233 seats, as well as sports fields, training areas, and a promenade. The two figures refer to different capacities: the first is for the center, and the second is the cinema’s seating capacity. You can therefore include cinema visits and activity areas as separate interests in your trip plans.
Admission to the community center is free. Check the admission rules again before your visit. In November 2025, a report mentioned children’s activities at the community center in dombra, robotics, and pottery. Individual classes and schedules may change; if you are interested in a particular activity, check in advance what will be offered during your stay.
Central library and children’s area
The central library in Koschi has a collection of world literature and Kazakh literature, as well as a dedicated children’s area. This complements the community center with a literary focus. If literature or a separate children’s area is important to your plans, the library offers a distinct point of interest alongside the cinema and sports facilities. The collection and library facilities may change over time; check the latest information if you plan to visit.
Wider Aqmola destination: culture and landscape
The wider Aqmola destination offers additional cultural and natural attractions. The interactive open-air archaeological and ethnographic museum «Botai Burabay» is dedicated to the ancient Botai culture. The Mausoleum of Uali Khan is located in the Burabay District of Aqmola Region. It is an important sacred site and a symbol of Kazakh statehood; it reflects the traditions of steppe architecture and the spiritual heritage of the Kazakh people.
The Mausoleum of Niyaz Bi is a historic and sacred structure in Tselinograd District, near the village of Taitobe, on a hill between the Ishim and Nura rivers. Burabai National Park contains at least 14 lakes, surrounded by mountains and evergreen forest. The «Bolektau» observation deck offers sweeping views of Lake Burabai, Lake Shchuchye, the rock formations Okzhetpes and Zhumbaktas, and the national park’s wooded areas.
The Korgalzhyn State Nature Reserve is also part of the wider Aqmola destination and is included on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Selety Canyon is presented as a destination for eco- and nature tourism. For a culinary introduction, the Kazakh Tourism guide «In the footsteps of nomads: discovering Astana and Akmola» describes ethnographic tours where tourists can learn the secrets of preparing national dishes.
