Doorndraai Nature Reserve and its surroundings

Doorndraai Nature Reserve is in the surrounding area, covers 7,000 hectares, and is at the foot of the Waterberg Mountains. Day visitors can use a picnic area with braai facilities and swimming pools. Wildlife found in the reserve includes tsessebe, sable antelope, mountain reedbuck, kudu, bushbuck, blue wildebeest, leopards, impala, and steenbok. Sightings may vary.

Doorndraai Dam is also in the surrounding area and is a major fishing spot. The options at the reserve therefore differ from the activities at the resort: picnicking, swimming, and wildlife viewing at Doorndraai Nature Reserve; fishing at the dam; and golf and game drives at the resort.
