Camp Hill offers travelers historic landmarks, trails through parks, and a farmers market in Downtown. The destinations have different highlights: historical markers point to an advance toward Harrisburg and a battle near Quebec, while a short park trail leads to Conodoguinet Creek and the Goddard Trail connects several green spaces. For your stay, you can plan around history, a shorter route, a longer trail, and a visit to the farmers market, depending on your interests.

Historic Sites and Remembrances

The Gettysburg Campaign Marker stands at 3025 Market Street. It records the farthest advance of Confederate troops toward Harrisburg. The Cumberland Riflemen Marker in Camp Hill commemorates a rifle company that fought near Quebec on December 31, 1775. The two markers therefore point to different locations: the advance toward Harrisburg, on the one hand, and the battle near Quebec, on the other. Camp Hill is also associated with the northernmost engagement of the 1863 Gettysburg Campaign. In Willow Park, the White Hall Orphan School Monument was erected by former students in 1926. The years refer to different events: 1775 for the battle near Quebec, 1863 for the Gettysburg Campaign, and 1926 for the monument’s erection.

About 1.2 miles west of Camp Hill is Peace Church. It retains its original form and is used annually by St. John's Lutheran.

Parks, Trails, and Water

Siebert Park is home to the Camp Hill Borough Municipal Pool. The pool is seasonal; operating dates may change. The park is also the starting point for a short, half-mile out-and-back trail to Conodoguinet Creek. At the creek, you can use canoes, kayaks, or tubes for a leisurely ride. If you’re planning a trip on the water, check in advance to see what equipment is available.

The Goddard Trail is 4.3 miles long, runs through the Borough of Camp Hill, and has a paved surface. It connects Siebert Park, Willow Park, Spring Lake Park, and Fiala Field. This gives you a clear distinction when planning a route: the creek out-and-back trail is half a mile, while the Goddard Trail is 4.3 miles. Willow Park offers picnic tables, pavilions, gardens, and benches, and is also one of the destinations along the Goddard Trail. While the pool and creek trail are among the listed recreational options at Siebert Park, Willow Park is characterized by its park amenities and gardens.

Market and Events

Market on Market is a farmers market in Downtown Camp Hill. In addition, the Borough of Camp Hill Parks and Recreation Department hosts family-friendly community events year-round. The market is a destination in the town center; the community events offer another reason to visit. Market dates and individual event schedules may change. Check the current dates if you want to plan your stay around them. The operating dates of the seasonal pool may also change.
