Discover Northern Cambria: Hotels and Local Experiences

Northern Cambria offers several distinct points of interest for planning a trip: the Northern Cambria Library, Halloween Night in the Park, the Dog Hollow Speedway race schedule, and the dining options at Cambrian Hills Golf Course. The town’s history includes the formation of Northern Cambria Borough through the merger of the communities of Barnesboro and Spangler.

Library: Book Club, Classes and Activities for Children

The Northern Cambria Library’s book club meets on the third Thursday of each month to discuss fiction and nonfiction books. If you’re planning your stay around a book discussion, check the specific date with the library beforehand. Classes include Paint n’ Sip, flower crafts, and wreath-making. These classes complement the book club with creative activities; check with the library for current offerings before making a particular class the reason for your visit.

There’s a dedicated room for children with children’s books and seating. Toys and activities are available there; children should be accompanied by an adult. The library also has STEM toys designed to encourage learning through play. Children can use these resources during library opening hours. Ask the library about current visitor policies before your visit.

Halloween Event and Race Schedule

Halloween Night in the Park is scheduled for Saturday, October 31, 2026, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Spangler Fire Company Community Park, 1700 Kennedy Avenue, Northern Cambria. Businesses, organizations, and community groups are invited to set up booths, decorate for Halloween, and hand out candy or other treats to local children. If you’re planning a trip during this period, check your travel dates against the evening event.

Dog Hollow Speedway is located at 152 Hamill Road, Northern Cambria, PA 15714. For the 2026 season, the race schedule lists the 358 Late Model, Crate Late Model, Pure Stock, Four Cylinder, Pro Stocks, and Laurel Highland 305 Sprints classes. The schedule set the grandstand and pit area opening time at 4 p.m.; pill draw ended at 6:30 p.m., the drivers’ meeting was scheduled for 6:30 p.m., warm-ups and hot laps were set to begin at 7 p.m., and heat races at 7:30 p.m. If a race is the reason for your trip, check the date against the schedule for the relevant season; the classes and times listed are part of the 2026 schedule.

Dining at Cambrian Hills Golf Course

Cambrian Hills Golf Course has a full-service bar and grill restaurant. If you’d like to include its dining options in your plans, confirm current operating hours before your visit.

Choose Travel Dates Based on Timing

The offerings differ in timing: the book club meets monthly, Halloween Night in the Park is a single scheduled evening in 2026, and the speedway times are part of the 2026 race schedule. For library classes and the current operation of the golf restaurant, it’s best to check directly. This helps you choose travel dates based on whether a specific event or a currently confirmed offering is the deciding factor.
