Lake Saint Louis began in 1966 as a private weekend recreational community on a lake. Parks, sports facilities, and events offer different reasons to visit. When planning, it is worth distinguishing seasonal offerings from the features of individual parks; access restrictions also apply to lakes, bodies of water, and some parks. If you are looking for hotels in Lake Saint Louis, you can first decide whether parks, sports, or events are the main consideration for your stay.

Parks and Seasonal Activities

In winter, Meadows Park has an ice rink for public skating; pond hockey games are also held there. In summer, the rink is converted into three pickleball courts. Use of the same space therefore varies by season: skating and pond hockey are part of the winter offerings, while pickleball is available in summer.

At Boulevard Park, walking paths run throughout the park, and seating areas offer views of the landscape. The amphitheater hosts movies and concerts in the park during summer. The six free concerts that Lake Saint Louis holds each summer take place either at the Boulevard Park Amphitheater or at Windjammer Pointe.

Trails and Sports

Deer Ridge Park is a 35-acre nature park south of Interstate 64. At Hawk Ridge Park (Zachary’s Playground), a paved walking trail approximately 0.8 kilometers long circles a pond. The trails differ in layout: Boulevard Park has walking paths throughout the park, while the trail at Hawk Ridge Park follows a specific route around the pond.

Founders Park Sports Complex offers six baseball fields and two regulation-size soccer fields for rent. In spring and fall, it is also one of the venues for the New Horizons Youth Baseball/Softball League. When planning around sports, both the rental options and the seasonal league connection are relevant here.

Access, Market, and Events

The two private lakes, central features of Lake Saint Louis, belong to members of the Lake Saint Louis Community Association. Other bodies of water and some parks within the city limits are also private and reserved for use by Association members and their guests. This is important when visiting lakes, bodies of water, or parks: not every area is open to the public. The rules were revised on October 22, 2024; check current access options before visiting.

The Lake Saint Louis Farmers & Artists Market is located at The Meadows shopping center and showcases local producers from within a 100-mile radius of Lake Saint Louis. The mix of vendors may change.

The annual Tree Lighting Ceremony is a family event held at The Meadows and kicks off the holiday season. Along with the summer concerts, it offers a different reason to visit than the seasonal park activities.
