At Lincoln Parish Park, cycling meets an inclusive playground. Museums, historic buildings and seasonal events also offer different ways to spend time in Lincoln Parish.

Cycling and Time Outdoors

Lincoln Parish Park has a 10-mile mountain bike trail. It is suitable for advanced riders and beginners. The same park is home to Legacy Park, an inclusive playground for children with different abilities.

The Rock Island Greenway offers another way to enjoy the outdoors: it is a shared-use path and linear park for walking, running and cycling. Pedestrians and cyclists can see public art there, including a mural. While the mountain bike trail has a specific length and designated suitability for different experience levels, the Greenway combines several types of use with views of public art.

Museums and History

The Eddie G. Robinson Museum honors the winningest coach in the history of NCAA Division I football. Exhibits include photographs, trophies, uniforms and films; interactive displays complement the collection. The museum thus combines honoring a defining figure in football with different ways to remember and explore his legacy.

At the Lincoln Parish Museum, the “Walls That Talk” exhibit tells stories through seven murals, accompanied by audio recordings of Parish residents. The museum is housed in the Kidd-Davis House, built in 1886. Its collection includes clothing, photographs, drawings, kitchen utensils and artifacts from the late 19th century. The murals featuring residents’ voices and the historical objects in the collection offer different perspectives on the history of the Parish.

The Autrey House was built in 1849 and is believed to be the oldest surviving structure in Lincoln Parish. The restored Dixie Theatre, built in 1928, is home to the Dixie Center for the Arts; the Center reopened in 2006. The North Louisiana Military Museum displays uniforms, weapons, flags, training equipment, aircraft and vehicles. Its exhibits focus in particular on World War I, World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War and the Gulf Wars.
