When searching for a hotel in Clermont, start by deciding what brings you there: Is an event the main focus, are you interested in walking trails and tennis, or would you like to explore Clermont’s early history? These interests lead to different planning considerations. If you have a set event date, check the dates for the year of your visit; if you’re visiting parks and exploring local history, the area’s attractions may shape your trip differently.

Events and Dates

The Clermont Rodeo takes place at Clermont Lions Club Community Park. The City of Clermont hosts the rodeo, and the Clermont Lions Club organizes it. This makes the venue and roles clear for your planning: the rodeo is held at Community Park, while the city and Lions Club take on their respective organizer roles. If you’re traveling to Clermont specifically for the rodeo, include this venue in your plans and check the exact date before booking your hotel.

Another major event in Clermont is the annual parade and festival. A 2025 city newsletter lists the third Saturday in September as the annual date. The Clermont Old-Fashioned Day Festival begins immediately after the parade at Lions Club Park. The order of events is clear: first the parade, followed immediately by the festival in the park. Check the dates for your travel year before making your hotel plans around them.

Robey Park: Walking Trails and Tennis

Robey Park is in Clermont’s southeastern corner. An extensive network of walking trails passes by the playground and through the woods to the far end of the park. Robey Park also has three fully fenced tennis courts and a playground. The playground is also along the trail network; tennis offers a different focus, with its three courts. This lets you choose between a walk past the playground and through the woods, or a tennis visit as different ways to enjoy the park.

Clermont Lions Club Community Park also has campsites, which are most often used during the annual NHRA U.S. Nationals at nearby Lucas Oil Raceway. This is a different event connection from the Clermont Rodeo: the rodeo takes place in the park, while the campsites are primarily associated with the event at the raceway. If the Nationals are the reason for your trip, check the dates for the relevant year.

A Historical Connection to Clermont

Crawfordsville Road adds a historical perspective to Clermont’s event and park attractions. As an early route, it led pioneers and their Conestoga wagons westward. In the 1830s and 1840s, the road helped bring traders and merchants to settle in the community that was later called Clermont. This historical connection links westward travel with the origins of the later Clermont community. If local history is a factor in choosing your destination, this offers a different focus from rodeo, festivals, or parks.
