The Meadows: Golf, Open Spaces, and Recreation
Accommodation in The Meadows
Golf, open spaces, a pool, other sports facilities, and recurring events offer a range of ways to enjoy the area. At the same time, some community facilities have explicitly stated access requirements, while certain dates or seasons apply to events. When planning, you can weigh these differences against your interests and travel dates.
Golf: Two Different Course Profiles
The Meadows Golf Course was redesigned by Ron Garl in 2004. The Groves Course is an executive golf course with a par of 65. This means different features stand out when planning your trip: for the first course, the redesign and year are specified; for the Groves Course, its classification as an executive course and its par are given. If golf is one of your priorities during your stay, you can use these details as a practical guide when making your choice.
Open Space and Fitness Trail
The Meadows has 1,650 acres of open space and is characterized by numerous oak trees with dense canopies. These expansive landscape features add a distinct aspect of the area's character to its individual sports and recreation facilities. There is also a 1.7-mile fitness trail. The acreage gives an impression of the extent of the open space, while the trail length describes a specific route. These are different measures to consider when planning activities.
Pool and Community Sports Facilities
The MCA Pool is a junior Olympic-size swimming pool with competition-size lanes and a separate spa. Access is available to holders of a Renaissance Access Card with a daily, monthly, seasonal, or annual wristband. If you plan to use the pool, check in advance which access option suits your stay.
Certain requirements also apply to other sports facilities. The Meadows Fitness Center is available to homeowners and tenants with a Renaissance Card; a lease term of three to twelve months is required. The pickleball courts operated by the Meadows Community Association are available to holders of a Renaissance Access Card. Meadows Tennis, in turn, is accessible to residents of The Meadows community, registered participants, and their accompanying guests. Access eligibility therefore varies by sport. Check the requirements for the activity you have planned in advance.
Events and Seasonal Market
Events include bingo on the first Wednesday of each month. A Wine and Cheese Social takes place every two months. Since the event calendar may change, check the dates for your travel period before planning around them.
The Meadows Farmers Market takes place once a month during the season at Meadows Shopping Village. It features stalls from local vendors as well as a range of events. Because it is seasonal, your travel dates are key to visiting the market: check the dates for your trip rather than assuming there will be a monthly event outside the season. This way, you can include the market in your plans if it coincides with your travel dates.
For community sports facilities and events scheduled for specific dates, it's worth checking the applicable access requirements or event date against your travel plans.
