Discover Pinellas Park
Accommodation in Pinellas Park
Pinellas Park offers a range of starting points for planning a trip: live entertainment and art, events throughout the year, the history of technology, and an accessible launch site for kayaks and canoes. If you’re looking for a hotel in Pinellas Park, you can first consider whether an event date, a cultural theme, or an activity on the water will shape your stay.
Art, the Stage, and the History of Technology
The Pinellas Park Performing Arts Center is a 600-seat venue for live entertainment. Regular performances by the Pinellas Park Civic Orchestra take place there. For a culture-focused trip, you can consider live entertainment and recurring orchestra performances as separate itinerary options; be sure to check specific performance dates separately.
The Tampa Bay Automobile Museum displays a collection of classic cars and vehicles that showcase exceptional creativity and ingenuity in their history and engineering. The museum also has a working replica of the 1770 French Fardier de Cugnot. Its focus on engineering ideas and their history gives the museum a different theme from art and stage performances.
Art is also represented in several forms. Heart of Pinellas is an 18-foot-tall sculpture made of brushed aluminum, permanently installed at the Barbara S. Ponce Library. Inspired Life, also permanently installed at this location, is a semi-abstract sculpture. While these two works are permanent installations, the art exhibitions at Art @ the library change every two to three months. Permanent sculptures and rotating exhibitions are therefore available at the same time, without requiring a visit on the same date.
Events Throughout the Year
Movies in the Park takes place monthly at England Brothers Park. The park also hosts the Country in the Park Festival and the city fair every March. The festival includes activities for children. If you want to plan your trip around an event, you can consider these monthly and annual dates as different planning rhythms.
Chili Blaze is an annual chili cook-off held on the evening before Country in the Park. More than 50 chili teams compete. Its timing alongside the festival makes the competition a distinct event in the March program, while the monthly movie screening follows a different schedule.
In December, the annual Holiday Parade takes place in historic downtown Pinellas Park along Park Boulevard. Pinellas Arts Village hosts a special Holiday Art Walk in December. Visitors can also visit studios and artists in Pinellas Arts Village.
Water, Agriculture, and Family Planning
Pinellas Park has an accessible launch site for kayaking and canoeing enthusiasts. The accessible launch site is a specific point of reference for your trip planning if you’d like to include kayaking or canoeing.
Patti Johnson Farm is the agritourism center of the City of Pinellas Park. The farm focuses on teaching school-age children where our food comes from. Members of the Pinellas Public Library Cooperative can also get free family admission passes to museums in the surrounding area.
Events follow different schedules for planning purposes: Movies in the Park takes place monthly, Country in the Park and the fair take place in March, and the Holiday Parade and Holiday Art Walk are scheduled for December.
