Jensen Beach sits between the ocean and a river, offers beaches and fishing opportunities, and has a quiet downtown. The different options can help guide you as you plan your stay.

Beach, Lagoon and Water Sports

At the lifeguarded Jensen Beach location, beach wheelchairs are available free of charge on a “first come, first served” basis. If this service is important for your visit, factor in that they are allocated in order of arrival. For a different perspective on the water, visit Indian Riverside Park: It spans 63 acres and sits on the shore of the Indian River Lagoon. Its interactive fountain is open daily. As schedules can change, check current opening hours before visiting.

The Jensen Beach coastline and waterways offer opportunities for fishing, boating, sailing, paddling and scuba diving. Paddling also offers a specific route to consider: The designated section of the paddling trail through the Indian River Lagoon is 16.2 miles long and runs between Jensen Beach and Hobe Sound. It is part of the Indian River Lagoon Aquatic Preserve. The length and endpoints refer to this section; the other water activities add different ways to experience the coastline and waterways.

For boaters, the Jensen Beach Mooring Field is a mooring facility for 56 boats off the Jensen Beach Causeway on the Indian River Lagoon. It accommodates guests for short-term stays and customers for long-term stays; reservation terms may change. Those interested in sailing can also visit the US Sailing Center of Martin County in Jensen Beach: It is an official USFoil Hub for foil development and high-performance sailing programs. Savannas Preserve State Park is accessible from Jensen Beach via Jensen Beach Boulevard.

Downtown, Art and Events

Jammin’ Jensen takes place every Thursday evening on the streets of Downtown Jensen. The Jensen Beach Fine Art & Craft Show is an annual art event in Downtown Jensen Beach. The different schedules may help with your plans: One is a weekly evening event, while the other is an annual art event. Check event dates and details before your trip.

Local history also shapes downtown: Pineapple-themed art nods to Jensen Beach’s former identity as the “Pineapple Capital of the World.” The Jensen Beach History Museum preserves the area’s heritage and is dedicated to collecting, preserving and educating visitors about its people, institutions and culture. Its permanent collection includes dozens of artifacts and images. Alongside events, history and cultural heritage are also distinct themes to explore during a visit.

Local History and Parks

The Mount Elizabeth Archaeological Site in Jensen Beach dates to 2000 BC. The Jensen Beach Christian Church dates to 1912; the Stuart Welcome Arch in Jensen Beach dates to 1926. These dates point to different moments in local history, while the History Museum focuses on people, institutions and culture.

Pineapple Park in Jensen Beach has a 4,500-square-foot playground that is shaded year-round. Regional sports leagues play games on its athletic fields. The Pat Mark Rio-Jensen Skate Park is connected to Langford Park by a walkway and features concrete bowls with ramps, as well as a street course. The parks therefore range from the tranquil waterfront setting of Indian Riverside Park to play, sports and skating facilities.

Consider which of these sides of Jensen Beach you want to shape your stay before comparing specific hotel offers.
